lol, as I like to only tell news that is confirmed though writing and not through words, clubplanet has confirmed it. I didn't want to believe my boss, especially if it's all through mouth. And I know how whack clubplanet is, but they do here and there provide decent enough interviews. And they were also the one's confirming Avalon's status. Fedor is really hard to talk to, it's so hard to get his attention. But either ways, Fedor confirmed it through Clubplanet and here's the link.

Avalon is not Closing, it's simply Moving for "competitive" issues fellow TAs.

This comes as a great suprise to even me. I've been with the Avalon company for nearly 6 years now and was the Avalon NYC resident DJ for close to 2 years. I had a remarkable run as the resident and I've probably spent more time in that DJ booth than any DJ other than Keoki from his days at Limelight. They say all good things must come to an end, but I'm sad that it is ending this way. Some people on this board didn't have the best things to say about Avalon but I've made some great friends and met some really amazing people in that room. It gave me the chance to play with EVERY big name DJ on the planet (except PVD, Sander, and Deep Dish) and I'll carry those memories for years to come. I still remember my very first gig as the official Avalon NYC resident like it was yesterday: Warming up for Mauro Picotto on a cold winter night in 2004. As a matter of fact, I still remember the very first track I played that evening.

Avalon's closing obviously means a lot to me, probably more so than the readers of this board might think. That DJ booth was my cubicle, so to speak, and every night I was there I put out my best {drunken} effort. What I'll miss most were those troopers who stuck it out on the dancefloor until 7am when I'd drop classics like "Born Slippy," "Enjoy the Silence," and "My Lexicon." No matter how tired I was, I'd still crack a smile. And oh those countless times I'd open the door at 8am to be greeted by the harshest sunlight mother nature could unleash upon a tired, overworked DJ.

I'm scheduled to play with Scot Project on the 23rd and as fas as I know, that's still a go. Hopefully I'll get to play some nights at Avalon's new joint venture with Spirit. Thanks to all those who appreciated my efforts at Avalon......

Hope to see you all again,

Ed

hey man, awesome post. I've been a pretty regular Avalon goer since it opened and have always had a good time. Good job on a great run and I hope to see you playing somewhere else real soon.

Yea. Must definitely come support Ed and Scot Project on the last night of Avalon. So it is true that Avalon is joining with Spirit. Most certainly interesting.
