Now guys like this are few ad far between. Usually, the woman says 'we need to talk'. He switches off and nods head periodically, then says 'yes, you're right, let's do that'. Then carry on behaving as he did in the first place. Back to square one...
You're right Ross, a lot of guys are over-influenced by their mums. They're easy to spot - EVERYTHING that she asks of him is 'nagging'. A simple, straight request e.g. 'Help me with the washing up please' to these guys is totally unreasonable and therefore nagging.
As for compliments some people (not me) find it difficult/ embarassing to accept a compliment. Or, she may really think you're lying just to make her feel better. Like when my mate went bald when she was getting chemotherapy and her bf told her she looked beautiful - pissed her off cos she clearly looked her worst ever.
