The guy i'm liking at the moment is Luciano, awesome remixes for Argy - Love Dose and Ronald Wruhme - Wortkabular, i love his style, minimal with a groovy feeling

Goin to see Paul Kalkbrenner later this month, his productions are allways solid

I enjoy techno as well, including some minimal/tech house stuff (Trentemψller, Basic Channel, Kalle M, T. Raumschmiere +++). Minimal gets a little boring in the long run though. In the more full-on kind of techno some of my favourite artists include Speedy J, Richie Hawtin, Thomas P. Heckmann, Laurent Garnier, Luke Slater, Pascal F.E.O.S. and Marco Carola.

really good article on richie:

http://www.clubplanet.com/news/arch...n_interview.asp

i think richie sums it up very well why i like the minimal/techno scene:

- no superstars
- people open to listening to cutting edge music
- tighter connection with the dj and the audience

You rang?

I still kick myself over missing out on them @ Awakenings last year, even though Kowalski and Heiko Laux were sublime out in the sun on the grass at that time.

Ah yes, I almost forgot to drop some names and random techno tidbits:

Wolfskuil Recs.
Sebastian Kramer
Kirk DeGiorgio
Ian O' Brien
Regis/Surgeon/Female/Downwards Recs.
Dave Angel (of old)
Susumu Yokota
Brtschitsch/Galluzzi
Marc Acardipane (10 points for anyone who manages to guess what track Alien Christ - The Art Of Shredding is inspired by)
Christian Morgenstern (R.I.P)
Joel Mull
CJ Bolland
Neil Landstrumm
Cristian Vogel
Envoy
Ian Pooley (of old, although his house offerings are tasty as well)
Richie Hawtin's cracked out warehouse stuff like F.U.S.E - Substance Abuse
Acid Junkies
Patrick Pulsinger (make more techno, dammit!)
Disko B
Peacefrog
Frank Martiniq
Robert Hood
Pascal FEOS (veteran)
Luke Slater
Matt French
Mike Ink.

Apart from you, that was

Have been listening to this a fair bit lately, some chilled out deeper techno stuff, gradually building up to melodic goodness:

quote:

http://www.curtismaranda.com/MP3s/C...aLiveOct.28.mp3

The Ghosts of Silent Spring………………..Saluki Regicide
Bye Bye…………………………………….Haruko Sari
Bluegill……………………………………..Benfay
Old Soul…………………………………….Christian Bloch
Eastern Soul (MXM remix)………………...Norken
Delay Rosa…………………………………..Kazoo
City Highway……………………………….Pete Larson
Automatenset……………………………….Benfay
Caraibes…………………………………….Agoria
Hot On The Heels of Love…………………Throbbing Gristle
(Carl Craig remix)
*(Caraibes and Hot on the Heels of Love, were taken
from “Fear and Loathing 2, CD1, Luke Slater”)
Skinny Times……………………………....Digital Vein
Session 4………………………………..….Jaun Atkins
Debug Frenzy……………………………....Pete Larson
Die Drummschleife……………………..….Der Dritte Raum
Most of Her………………………………...Pete Larson
Miasma…………………………………….Noah Pred
Morning Sun……………………………….Utah Saints
Solar………………………………………..Afunk
Beton……………………………………….Tzunnet
Raingarden…………………………………Monica Kruse
(Alexander Kowalski remix)
Night Train…………………………………Shawn Rudiman
The Ghosts of Silent Spring………………..Saluki Regicide

Forget about the completely unnecessary fader cuts, the odd double beats and the spelling errors in the track list, there are some true melodic techno goodies to be found in the second part of the mix.
