What's the over/under on Josh Beckett's starts? 20? Dude is as fragile as Fred "the glass" Taylor.

It's win/win.... yes Beckett is infamous with his blisters and other injuries... but he's better than Bronson Arroyo, and the other losers on that staff...
The sox are screwed, because they need to essentially score 8 or more runs a game this season to win, because the pitching is awful... either way, they're going to suck, because they'll trade Manny for peanuts, and they'll crumble... oh well...

Ummm... Hanley is a top prospect, not just in the Sox system, but in all of baseball. While he may not tear the cover off the ball his first few years, his potential is outstanding. Actually, both Hanley and Anibal are top 50 prospects.
I really hope that the Mets don't trade Milledge for Manny... Milledge seems more and more like a potential superstar.

Got to give up something to get Manny's lifetime .314 avg, and 40 HR's and 134 RBI's a year.
I remember when Gregg Jeffries was like baseball's reincarnation of Jesus. There's always prospects that you trade away who become superstars and there's Hensley "Bam Bam" Muelens who you never hear from.

Well, if the Mets are taking Manny's entire contract, they certainly should not have to give up Milledge to get him. Nor Petit. But I dont really care about Petit. To be honest, I don't really even want Manny.

I really wish the Marlins took the Rangers package...
Though, they'll still suck for at least the next year or so.

Uhhh... no. Not even close. Hank Blalock is not as good as everyone makes him out to be. Check it:
v. RH: .294/.363/.517/.880
v. LH: .222/.271/.353/.624
Florida is a crazy pitchers park. And Texas is a crazy hitters park. There's not a doubt in my mind that Blalock + Florida would = .750 OPS

yeah i would like Vazquez as well but he didn't really take to the pressures of playing in new york last time..will it be any better since he will be playing for the step child team of new york..although i'm sure since Pedro is the main media guy alot will be deflected.Could always do what Vlad Guerrero does and never learn english(supposedly)

I've been such a Vasquez whore since his days in Montreal. I think, first off, he was injured with the Yankees. Second, it's the Yankees. And finally, he was pretty damn good the first half in New York. I really don't think he'd have any problem here. And his peripheral stats are great. Just gives up a few too many HRs... which Shea would only help in minimizing.
