meh night made awesome by Rank 1!!!!!

The drink had some good tunes going early on, then I later went to the guv and Oliver was doin ok I guess. I wasnt feeling the house. Then Tall Paul came on and just got more BORING for me. I was NOT impressed by him at all. ( I enjoy house from time to time but I just wasnt enjoying his set and imo the crowd looked down too)
Once he started to speed it up a bit I got more into it and was fully going once Rank 1 came on! Just WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU RANK 1!!!!

PURE INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved it. The whole night was an eleven.

Started of the night getting lost trying to find Scotland Yards (me lost, oh never!!!). Eventually found it and got in side to see several TA’s already chillin and drinking up a storm. Who’s every idea it was for that pre-meet should be given a metal. It’s always a pleasure getting to meet up with TA’s before a party. It was also great to meet some new faces: m2j, smuncky, iLiptikalOrbitZ, INTRANCE, and Inmyplace.

Chilled at Yards for a while sucking back on some pitchers with Jamie, Josh and Robin while we waited for THE MAN to arrive. Not sure what time he arrived around, but he was definitely well received. Favourite memory of the night at Scotlands- trying to assemble drunk TA’s + Other TA’s to get one collective photo= Pure jokes . Piet was very welcoming to all who approached him. Continued to drink more.

Then it was the moment of truth - THE DRAW . I was so pumed for this because it was my one year anniversary of being in the scene. It all started one year ago for Miss K (I missed you babe) and myself at Rank 1. It only seemed fair that I should win the right to go up to the dj booth and record the tracklist. Light does shine on a dog’s ass some days and yesterday it was mine . I somehow became even more pumped up for the party after this little treat. After that I continued to drink with a big on my face. Shortly following that we all started getting ready to head to Guv.

We got to the Guv and got in without incident. Heard the banging beats of Tall Paul and was very impressed. He has quite the dj style. None of the above was there, but it was awesome nonetheless. It was so awesome getting to meet Tall Paul, MO, and Piet again in their domains. Getting to meet them properly and getting to talk to them for more than the “you’re awesome” comments.

It was all too soon and then Rank 1 was on. Man did he play some sick sick SICK BEATS. I was eating it up . It was quite different being up there seeing the crowd partying. If I was a dj I don’t think I would like to play up there at all. There was a real distance between the dj and crowd. I think it is way too hard to be able to connect with the crowd from such a high and far distance. Piet however was destroying the crowd with track after track of tech trance, which he would hand me afterwards and I would write it down. And this is how the track list was born. Unfortunately all good things must come to and ends as did my time in the booth . The night quickly turned into day, were I was left with a much found memory of an amazing anniversary and an experience never forgotten.
