Not to diss you FPS fanboyz =). But the new GTA style game "True Crime: NY City" is worth a look. You play as a cop in this one, and it's damn good..

//back to FPS. (grr!)

Not like you die hard's. Although Call of Duty 1 and VietCong wet my noodle.. I think Call of Duty 2 looks too damn impressive to pass up.

now that I have a computer good enough to handle modern games again I'm looking forward to :

TES : Oblivion, cuz I was hopelessly addicted to Daggerfall oh so many years ago.

Unreal Tournament 2007 : Coming out in q1 or q2 2006. Because I kick ass at fast twitch shooters, and it's been a while since I played one with any regularity

Civ4: Coming into my house in december, civ is always the biggest addiction for me. Not other series of games can keep me up 3 days at a time without food, and only bathroom breaks.

sensational game. really top class. but finding it unbelievably difficult tbh. if you work out how to expand early on and get a bunch of cities etc, lemme know. im getting totally owned at the minute

apparently i almost have x3:reunion ready to be tested. meant to be full of bugs, but hell, so was elite 3 and i loved that too. me wants to be a space pirate!! aarrrrrr!!

Don't know what to say, but your are definetly missing out

It's the story, not more can be said.

Music is awesome, graphics look awesome for a game that came in 2002.

If your going to give Morrowind a miss, just be sure to catch Oblivion.

Philby: Yeh, looks nice. Excited about the movie? I hope if they do scenes where they take their original language, then i hope it's Farsi, and it's produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, so you know its going to be good!

I hate movies like Alexander where they have the Iranians (Persians) speaking Arabic, what the shit is that!!!

from what I'm told, expanding early in the game is more of a detriment to your civ than anything else. Meier wanted to take away the whole 'rush to colonize at any cost' from the game and thus implemented the whole new city support system which simultaneously solved the previous corruption problems in earlier editions.

From what I'm hearing, developing you cities such that they become a level 2 or level 3 before building a settler is the best strategy. And eventually building up your interior cities to while only building settlers with your frontier cities works best. And specializing your cities with scientists, n' shit to maximize the great leaders being produced as well.

Go to civ fanatics online forums for tips.....And I know all of this even before I own/have played the game.
