Buzzin Fly 4 life mawfuckaz

I wouldnt even mention those names because they are the furthest thing from deephouse there is.

Give a listen to Ben Watt's remixes and comps on buzzin' ...probably the most respected figure in deephouse music, hes to deephouse wut oakenfold is to trance, he's put in so much work in, that its mind numbing, the guy went from his early EBTG stuff with Tracy Thorn, which was bossanova to the latter years of EBTG where they started experimenting with house, and then he went full swing into deephouse, i dunno i think I'm bias a bit in that I love the guy so much. Miguel Migs would be the obvious name to mention ...guys pretty established, eventhough I dont particularly dig alot of what he does cuz it sounds a bit mainstream. If you wanna go full tilt into mainstream deephouse, checkout junior jack, room 5, stonebridge, and the entire head kandi label. Uhm .. if you missed Ben's essential mix earlier in the year, be sure to get it, it was terrific. Way too many acts to even begin naming.

PS - If you wanna ger real heavy real quick, get all of Timewriters albums...masterpieces. Letters from a Jester, Diary of a Lonely sailor and so on ..i have em all so if u wanna know wut the swag is just gimme a pm. I'm way more into deephouse then I am into todays trance.

Thanks! I've heard alot about Timewriters and even think I've downloaded some of their tracks in the past. Now I'm reminded to do so. If Watts is what Oakenfold is to trance, I'm not very enthused. What track do you recommend?

Am I the only being on this god foresaken peanutboat to not dig Hed Kandi?

I'm pretty sure you'll find sizeable amounts of vehemence for its handbag house concepts among the people from UK here, as Hed Kandi has had a tendency to invade club back rooms and festivals all over the country. That being said, the music is not all bad if you just bother to look bit deeper.

Back on topic. I'm having a hard time figuring out just what this thread is about, but going by that Hot Toddy-track Floorfiller posted, I'd say these tracks should fit nicely:

Vivian Green - Fanatic (Eric Kupper & Francois K's Classic Vocal Mix)
Shazz - El Camino (Kevin Yost Remix Pt.1 & 2)
Joshua - Work It Out
Pepe Bradock - Life
Chateau Flight - Prism
The Coastal Commission - Our Music
Floppy Sounds - Late Night
Chris Lum - Ease Up On It
Diadem - Saturday Session #2

Mark Farina's mixalbums might appeal also, particularly Connected.

It's classic Chicago House. A track that sounds similar is Robert Owens - Bring Down The Walls. Actually...now that I think of it...if that's a 303 used for the bassline...it probably is Acid House. After 1987 you had a lot of blending of the older Chicago House style and the new 303 acid. But the bassline in Can You Feel it could have been made by whatever guys like Steve Hurley Used on their tracks in the mid 80's, whatever it was. I think it depends on what he used to make the bassline. If it was a 303, then it's acid house, but if it was something else, then probably just Classic Chicago House. It was released a year before Acid Traxx by Phuture...before the acid thing became big...before anyone knew the potential of the litte silver box....except for Marshall Jefferson and his buds. Who knows man. I'd just play it safe and call it Classic Chicago House.

Anyway, this is definitely acid house:

acid house
acid house
acid house
acid house

It's about as deep as a 1' ice cube tray. Plastic!

Maybe I've not heard enough.. I don't know. I've listened to one Winter Sessions series or something or other and never let it pollute me again. When I listen to Can You Feel It? my neck and back muscles relax, my shoulders automatically roll back. My breath, pulse and heart slows and mind is cleared. It's like slipping into warm satin. Or suffocating. But a good, warm suffocating, you know? That is deep. I just don't get it from Hed Kandi.

Well I think you're raising the bar a wee bit too much by putting up it against Mr. Fingers But the earliest releases they put out contain some pretty good music, like this one. It's just hard to get to it because of the oodles of coffee table background noise that you have to wade through.

Many thanks to all for your posts...
I would say from all of the suggestions posted, nearly half were bang on!
The ones I liked the best were the Daso - T.Anders and the Sequential Pig & Dan remix.
CANNOT stop listening to 'em.
Thanks again everyone!

thought I might be able to restart this topic seeing as how it went so well last time, and because it has been awhile, so I', sure there are a lot more releases siince the last postings, and a lot more members to post them too!
"FloorFiller" & "Iceferno" nailed the type of (loungy) house I was looking for last time around...
Anyone have any more suggestions for tracks that match that type of house?
Thanks.
