yes it does, i know about over 20 kids that got a GED and are in major good colleges. High School is a waste of time, especially if you're in a public one. I didn't learn jack shit. I stopped giving a fuck in like 11th grade. did some work in 12th but learned nothing new. I got to college with a GED, the test is a JOKE i got virtually everything right, and i am still waiting to see how high school "prepared" me for college.

No, It does not. Just because a college takes a GED does not mean that they will accept you. If the program is oversubscribed the first step to limit the numbers is based on ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE. Meaning if he applied with a GED and the program is busy he will be one of the first to be cut from the list. Secondly I would worry about his performance in college if he can’t hack high school.

nope it will go by his GED score if too many people in a major? hah, never heard of it but then you just apply for liberal arts and then change ur major also, he said that he thinks high school is boring and he doesn't like it there, the same way i felt cuz i was wasting my time there.

Stay in school and get your diploma. The reason being is that sometimes things happen where you have to drop out of college for a period of time to take care of things. If that happens employeers would rather see a high school diploma than a GED. Better safe than sorry.

I am a "good" student you could say. Right now I am acing all of my classes and such. I just hate it though. After learning that a GED is the equivalent of High school diploma and that my college of choice accepts it, I am just not motivated at all. The college I want to go to isn't an ivy league school or anything. I am sure that I will get into the college. My SAT score is 1500 something (the old sat...)

Dude don't go to college when you're like 16. Nobody would want to party with you. Unless of course you don't party and just sit inside and make chain mail all day.

heh, i remember feeling like that. But junior and senior year are really the best times of your life, even if you dont think it is. i wish i could go back and realize that it owns, but i had a really great time.
