Mine = Katharine McPhee, Paris Bennet, Lisa Tucker
and Ace Young, Chris Daughtry and Elliott Yamin

I really feel the guys this year are stronger than the ladies, though. I mean, there are a couple I woulda sent packing already, but they MIGHT have a chance.

awishbear - love that you quoted Auden in your sig. I did a project on him in grade 12 and I interviewed myself dressed up as him (using the school's tv equipment and wearing my dad's clothes).

It's not going to be for a new singer for an old band, tho. It's a band from scratch this time. Not fully confirmed, but Van Halen said "no" as did Queen.

I prefer the girls' performances.... I don't get a kick out of watching the guys' episodes. ONly a girl can take my breath away.

I like Brenna Gethers for her spunky personality. Not the best singer, but I love her personality... great ALL-AROUND PACKAGE. She kisks ass. (oh, literally... blackbelt in shotokan karate)

Lisa Tucker is the gem I feel needs to be discovered. very skilled.

Paris Bennett... She's amazing, but dunno if I feel she belongs in this contest. The contest is for people who need to be discovered... to find that new star.... She's openned for lil bow wow (or whatteva he's called nowadays), so he carreer is already on the road, so the show should be for undiscovered amateurs, not up and comers.

Heather Cox??? What the ---- is she doing on this show? porn stars (or people with their names) shouldn't be on a family show. You can't get in life on looks alone, and this girls hasn't learned it yet.

Which brings me to my last banter... It is unfortunate that it's all of America that votes for the idols. The only time America got it right was with Kelly Clarkson. Voting for the best skilled doesn't make a star, an idol, or what have you. A true idol needs to be a complete package, looks, personality, style and skill. You need a high score in all of the above traits, you can't exceed at just a couple of them.

I very much agree with you, Ab, about what the idol should be. There have been times when people are voted off the show because they "don't fit the image" and they're truly talented and passionate people (i'm thinking jennifer houston (?) from season three, when fantasia won - not that fantasia wasn't bad, but jennifer deserved to be in the top 4). America's making it out to be more of a beauty pageant than a talent thing.

I'm excited to watch tonight, though, and see if the right people go through. I'll be very upset if Katharine or Lisa don't make it.

And yes, Canadians>Americans. Always.

Regarding the Canadan>American talent issue.... I'll have to say that I actually do like, and have like only one Canadian Idol dude. and that is this guy....



Jacob ruled, he had the most charisma and talent I have ever seen on either Canadian or American Idol, and if he was on the AMerican version, he would have kicked so much ass.

I also had a chance to say hi to him while he was at the CNE. He was so cool, and ready for stardom.
