When the US starts showing tolerance for other cultures and religions and deals with the issues in their own country (ie. 34 million Americans living on or below the poverty line) then I will respect them. Oh and when they get off their high horse and stop assuming American life is THE WAY and the be all and end all, more respect will follow.

Canada doesnt deal with issues within its own country, so why should you tell americans to deal with theirs?

In canada we deal with muliticultural hiarchy. How many times do i hear second and third generation canadians talk about how their cultural background is superior to others? (meanwhile they are all canadian anyways). What difference is that to how americans act except that unlike canadians, americans are proud to wave their flag?(instead of a flag of a foreign country like we do)

Yeah the people might elect George Bush...but think of the small percentage of the population that actually votes? Those usually tend to be older people with more conservative viewpoints on life.

Plus every part of the US is different...the Southeast is different form the Northwest. The Northeast is different from the Midwest. You can't judge ALL Americans from a small group of people that elected the president.

Plus I can see why alot of Americans are ignorant on many subjects....I was raised there and had my schooling there and we really don't learn about anyhwere else in the world but America. In order to obtain education about other parts of the world one would have to pursue further education, and how many people do you think are going to do that? Luckily my parents were worldly and taught me about other places and took me to visit so I could experience these different cultures.
