for every scumbag doped out of their mind that you notice, there are like five who are only moderately doped and can almost pass off as regular people, except they are much more willing to dance.

My observations while partying indicate that the overwhelming majority gets fucked up, but most people do something like an E pill every month, and on their other outings they just get drunk or take a pain killer or some weed or something. So periodically they get wildly fucked up and look like an assclown, but between those times they get less fucked up, mostly just drink and smoke to loosen their inhibitions a little.

I notice only a few people who show up stone cold sober, and they usually only do that sometimes, like when they are low on money. What I am sure of though, is that the majority of EDM fans have contacts in the drug peddling industry, they all know somebody, or know somebody who knows somebody, they all seem to have access to stuff, and almost all of them seem to do drugs, but most of them do not do drugs every time they go out. You definately notice the types who overindulge, but it seems most people are smarter about it, not getting obnoxiously fucked up but also not being stone cold sober.

When I watch the crowd the people who are 100% sober really stand out, the people who are dancing are either all sweaty clumsy and drunk, or all dialated and hyper and stimulated, but the stone cold sober people just stand around and nod their heads a bit. Most people dancing are at least a little bit drunk, the people too fucked up are usually tucked in a corner somewhere or making an ass of themselves in front of the dj booth.

It is alot of fun just observing the crowds, if you are familiar with what specific drugs do to you you can look at them and figure out what they are on and how much they have taken.

are you? do you honestly think one joint is comparable to one cig?

of course 20 (high quality) joints a day are going to fuck you up more than 20 cigs in the long term but you seem to be forgetting a few vital factors here; a pack of 20 cigs is what... £3-4? you could get one joint out of that, maybe two. to add to that, the cigs are clinically addictive, unlike weed,.. so even if your stoner is loaded & can afford 20 joints a day, the likelyhood is they won't feel the need to.

so if you base the comparison on the rough average useage rates, i'd wager that the cigs are more likely to cause problems

yea i think everyone realises this. but i'd be pretty certain that if the drugs never existed, dance music wouldn't be anywhere near as big as it is today
