again people can't read threads, this is supposed to be tunes of today and the past couple of years that may be rememered as classics. and whoever put Delerium - Silence in as a recent track needs to look up the years

But, on the other hand: tracks can't just be declared "classic" when they're only 2 or 3 years old...

So if I'm correct, this thread is about predicting if the tracks are going to be classic in teh future

I put ... but I put Tiesto's In Search Of Sunrise Remix ... of 2004 ... I'm not a Delerium expert ... on the amazon site this release single is dated 2004 ... 2004 is recent to me ... the remix of course not the Original Silence track that I think it is of 98 ... before Tiesto's Remix this track was unknow to me.

I think these of my favourite tunes will become the classic of trance in future.

Astral Projection - Soundform
Astral Projection - People Can Fly
Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy
Astral Projection - Kabalah
Astral Projection - Nilaya
Man With No Name - Teleport
Man With No Name - Sugar Rush
Tilt - The World Doesn't Know
Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia
DJ Tiesto - Adagio For Strings
Armin Van Buuren - Sail
Paul Van Dyk - Nothing But You
Gouryella - Tenshi
Gouryella - Ligaya
Robert Miles - Children
Blank & Jones - Waiting For The Light
Above & Beyond vs Andy Moor - Air For Life (Mirco De Govia Edit)

That's not my top list of tracks, some other tracks that are awesome for me are rarely mentioning now by people and in ten years they would be mostly forgotten by trance community and I didn't include them into my "classic-list".

Tiesto's remix was done in 2000 when the track was re-released and saw all the club play and chart action. The original Silence is as old as 1997, but it was Fade who provided the first dance remix and prompted interest in the track.

You're referring to the 2004 Reissue with a totally unnecessary set of mixes, Above & Beyond notably. G&D were commissioned to do a remix, but I think Dave Dresden announced that they pulled out because Tiesto had already made the definitive mix. Props to them for that.

OMG GENIUS!!! Seriously, some of you people need to learn to read.

Perhaps define in your little heads 'consider', 'classics' and 'past couple of years' before putting in your entirely irrelevant suggestions such as Saltwater/Age of Love/Cafe Del Mar.

A track that doesn't lift the MAJORITY OF THE CROWD could barely be considered a classic, could it?? It doesn't matter if the majority of the crowd didn't know what trance was when the track was made, it has to ignite something in them even the first time they hear it (I daresay the majority of you didn't hear Cafe Del Mar for the first time in 1993)

So, what tracks of today/past couple of years will still be getting dug out of crates or remixed in 2016 with a new audience also falling in love with them?

The answer may well be 'nothing' as good trance seems to be defined into:

a) the more subtle yet highly distinctive and original tracks (Age of Love, Cafe Del Mar) and;

b) the highly obvious tracks that do actually have exceptional vocals and/or melody that a crowd identifies from the first note (Silence, Airwave)

and trance now is cliche of formulaic synths or vocals creating disposable tracks that new generations may not identify with if those tracks are not getting shoved in their faces weekly (daily?!) via ASOT etc.

ANYWAYS, SAYING CAFE DEL MAR IS A POTENTIAL 'FUTURE' CLASSIC IS RETARDED

but The Tiesto 200 is the same mix of 2004 ... why 200 is not named Tiesto's In Search Of Sunrise Remix and is a classic track ?

Yeah, because nothing was changed in 2004. It was just put on the release along with the new mixes.

Thank god someone else has brought up this ch00n and a half. Ferrin & Low remix was easily the most powerful uplifting trance track of summer 2005 for me. So dreamy, perfect vocals, perfect bassline....
