Come on, hes got a lot of commercial garbage out and a lot of it is cheezy hard house... He even has the tune that i hate more than any other tune ... the kernkraft tune...and the darude, and storms- time to burn which i also hate. Seeing that he put these three tunes out onto a cd... along with the house garbage just goes to show you where he stands in the trance field... Now, you are almost guaranteed good trance when you buy a cd from black hole or bonzai records.... But if ferry is mixing... watch out... Like i said, his productions are much better than his music selections.. and they arent to brag about either.

When i saw Ferry Live..he spun an amazing set..and i loved all his sets from last year..... the set i heard this year were amazing.... ... you cant look at tha TN albums..and say thats how Corsten spins.... its all studio made ...one thing about cd sets..that you really cant really the energy as if you were in a live performance..!!!! ....and about the TN albums..... you right they had some tunes that just got over played...but there tunes on there which to me i still love to listen to..and are amazing.....usually the more older TNs like i said before listen the Rosemontag rave..and if you dont there is any energy into that set then i dont know what else to say!!

you know, your probably right... ferry's sets are probably (i hope) much better than his compilations out... but let me tell you something... I would be embarrassed and would ruin my reputation putting stuff out like he did.. so its hard for me to respect him.. Hes got some decent stuff out, but hes not consistent. Another person who is sort of like ferry with making compilations and remixes who isnt consistent with good trance is armin v. He is hot and cold. Dont get me wrong, when armin is hot, he is at his best... and some of his sounds i love to death... and then he has got some really cheezy housy trash with his remixes and music selections.. Why cant they be consistent like vdmoor or airscape.... That is all ive got to say..

yup...armin put out some vague stuff.i didnt like most of Basic Instinct CD1 and that stupid Stalker mix that he did of "Dont call me Baby !" .... but he's still a god to me...(damn...we mortals tolerate these gods too much ! )

u've got a good point in this consistency thing.amrin, ferry and all keep shifting tones and genres and go under different nicks and produce inconsistent stuff.

I forgot to add VDM to the list....tha man's got one name and he does too good melodic trance and excellent remixes :

Rising Star - Touch Me (VDM Mix)

Tenth Planet - Ghosts (VDM Mix)

...excellent stuff...and he's been doing it for long = god !

Your trance god is different from mine

Mainstream trance gods dont appeal to me, they are boring and I hate their style. A lot of it is just hype...most of the tracks you guys like are slow crap. I like my trance hard and banging so my trance god is different from yours.

While we're at it, I assume we are talking about producers as in people who remix and create and not just dj cos anyone can get some good or average trax and mix them up to sound good (including yours truly)..

Oh and the likes of ATB...well anyone calling them "trance gods" need to have their heads examined. All their tracks they have remixed have their 9pm till I come riff in it in some form or another.

Paul van dyke could be considered a trance god because he has been around forever and he can produce trance tracks for ambient trance (like the track he had on trance europ express one) to commercial trance (for an angel) which sounds good.

He has been around forever back when techno started.

and I consider the likes of Sasha digweed etc to be house producers so dont mix them up with trance!

Well if you're gonna slam our nominees then at least tell us whou would put in this category?

So basically you're saying that u can mix as well as armin?
I agree that PVD deserves that status..
Any others?

Hello! Trance Gods 2

Hi I like nrg type trance so my "God" would be the likes of Captain Tinrib

My point was to be a "God" the DJ needs to produce good stuff and not remix other people's stuff...Over here you can get a 16 year old who has gone to a mixing skool and he can go buy the latest trax and mix them up to sound good (as good as armin)...cos lets face it, its the songs that make a good mix...even if you can only mix on 2 dex...

but can the 16 yr old produce, the answer is no! So to be a God, one of the criteria would be the ability to produce consistently (read the beginning of the thread!!!)

For example, look at Gary D...his own tracks are slow and boring..but he can mix up good compilations (a la "Gary D Presentz" series) using great songs by absolom

If youre talking about DJing ability alone, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Andy Voigt, Jason Midro, Kimball Collins, DJ Morgan, DJ number nine, Johan Gielen are amongst my favorites...

If you talk about producers and remixers...I like Transa eg
they turned "Sparkless" by DJ Tiesto into an epic track and they have their own legendary trax out like astro dawn which is on most of my friends playlists

ok bye bye
