If you are going to be jumping again in the future.. start with the static line solo jump and work your way up. There will be no freefall, but you can eventually get your solo jump license (after about 20 jumps).
However, if you will only be jumping once, it makes more sense (and it will be way more fun) to do the tandem jump since they usually jump from 10,000 ft and the freefall is exponentially longer (30 secs, vs. about 1-2 seconds on the static line).
