WOW! that was an awesome night! I had been waiting for this day for what seemed like forever ... was a lil worried i would be disappointed as i was so excited to see him play again .. but no Lawler was awesome as allways.
Nathan played a pretty top notch set too .. was nice to get a preview of his style the wk before here in London.
Great to see so many familiar faces again and to meet some new ones as well.
Finally went to Cherry Beach in the am .. first time there .. you guys have no idea how lucky you are in Toronto .. we dont have anything like that here in London .. was so relaxing to just chill there for the afternoon.
Thanks to everyone that made this night memorable for me

Music is a powerful energy that flows though us. It's what brings us together. You forget of all of life's problem's and focus on the moment. The now. Nothing else matters but the way you feel and the movement of your body. It's an expression of the soul.
nice pics but you gotta do something about the focus
edit: crap. i cant seem to link the damn picture properly. forget it.

OK. That was an awesome night / morning.
Last night reminded me why Steve has been ONE of if not my favorite DJS for the LONGEST time. Steve threw down track after track of some of the craziest, dirtiest, most upfront vibed-up house music out there which had the crowd eating out of the palms of his hands. There were a lot tunes that I heard for the first time and then there were a few signature Lawler crowd pleasers thrown in there as well.
Steve took to the decks inside of Guvernment a little after 2am and he played for a little under 3 hours. It was a prototypical Lawler set from start to finish, filled with lots of big driving tech / electronic house sounds. At times it was dark and twisted but there were also some warm melodies thrown in there to balance things out. Once the set in the main room was done it was time to head up to Skybar for round 2 and another 3 hour set from Steve.
And just like last year “the King of Space” rocked the shit out of the place! He started off nice and deep and before long he was dropping the big bombs that had all of Skybar going off to the music. It was funky ass shakin pimped up to fuck house tunage all morning long from Lawler. The Skybar set was definitely more funkier and vocally but it still maintained that raw Lawler edge to it. Needless to say, I loved loved LOVED the music up on Skybar and it looked like Steve was really enjoying himself up there as well.
I heard soooooooo many hot tracks last night BUT the ones that stuck out the most with me were:
-Ernest Saint Laurent – Do Ya Dub (if this isn’t a quintessential terrace tune then I don’t know what is, that bassline kills me everytime … )
-Pete Heller – Simpler (the tune with the never-ending buildup)
-Rodamaal - Insomnia [Ame mix] (pure dark + twisted underground vibes with this one)
-This one HUGE big room track that he layers “house is a feeling” over … mental.
Easily the best night out I’ve had this year.
find it. keep it. work it. share it.
