Why did he cancel the last goal?

I predicted a 3-2 for Aussies

Huge game.

Croatia started out very well and you could clearly see the importance of this game when the teams stepped out on the field tonight.

Darijo Srna is one of my favourite players in Croatia and stroke that freekick in the back of the net. It was really no chance for the goalkeeper and one of this World Cup's most beautiful goals so far.

Then the croats stopped playing football and Australia took care of everything. They started attacking and Mark Viduka couldn't be controlled because of his greatness when he covers the ball. Sterjovski, Cahill and Kewell clearly the ones who played best in the second half.

The goal came later on, on a penalty after a stupid misstake from Robert Kovac's replacement Stjepan Tomas who made so many misstakes in the defence. He was unlucky though when the ball came on his hand because he slipped on Cahill's feet and took the ball with his hand, Poll saw this and made an excellent call.

Craig Moore, Wonderful penalty. Distinctive and secure.

The croats started out pretty well in the second half again, and played well. Australia started taking over the game though a little bit, but when Kovac scored that goal, which I honestly can't understand how Kalac couldn't take, they were up with a goal and in the 1/8 finals.

The Aussies took over after the goal and here's why the game changed so dramatically:

Guus Hiddink made the right subs and he took out tired players like Sterjovski, Chipperfield and Grella. On came Kennedy, Bresciano and Aloisi.

I really like how he makes the substitutes so fast and doesn't think to much of what can happen at the back. It's a gamble, but it works almost every time and pays off.

Exactly when Kennedy came on, Stjepan Tomas took the ball with his hand and it should've been a penalty kick. Graham Poll didn't see it and it was so obvious.

But they got their goal in the end after Harry Kewell got the ball, and he scored the goal that Australia needed to go through and become historical. Impressive!

Croatia could've scored like 4 times in the end, but didn't manage to do anything about the result. But it was obvious that Niko Kovac had the best chance in the end when I think 4 players ran against the ball and threw themselves at it to win this game!!!!

Then in the end, the game became totally out of line and the referee gave Josip Simunic 3 yellow cards, and in the end a red card. Idiot!

He lost control on the game in the end, and I personally think he shouldn't get the chance to get any more games together with Markus Merk.

But FIFA's system is corrupt and fucked :<

A BIG CONGRATS TO ALL THE AUSSIES AND CREDIT TO THE CROATS WHO HAD CHANCES TO SCORE IN THE END OF THE GAME!

What a game this was! Easily the best one in the tournament and it had it all!

One of the best games so far to watch, just because of the shear spectacle Poll seemed completely lost at times, the Ozzies were denied 2 100% penalties at least. The 3 yellows trick was ofcourse retarded as well.

And yeah, that Australian chick was
