would you recommend that trance is more melodic and uplifting
when you stay in one key for 8 bars ,and just play notes in that key and use short intervals.
or
do the typical I,IV,V Chord progression and change the chord and keys every 2 bars.

| quote: | | A very helpful tutorial. But I am stuck in understanding the last bit where the the chords are broken down into patterns. How do I determine the transistional bits? |
Goldy pretty simple ,every key your melody is in has 7 keys that you can use
for example
B-flat - minor triad
Bb,db,fmaj
transistional keys
would be c ,eb,g,and a
so a melody includes 3 things chords/triads ,inversions,and scales.

Thanks for replying.
Still a bit confused. Could you explain that how it's done in the tutorial? Using the d-minor scale.
