agreed, there is no comparison b/w the armin I saw at Labour and the armin that played in dc only a week later. Enjoyed seeing him both times, but armin ripped off a 3hr set at LoL that far surpasses what took place at glow.

Like I said in my review this was such a different Armin show that I have ever seen. For the first couple of tunes there was an elevator set going on. In Miami after he came in with Proper Education he started doing it really hard TRANCE, TRANCE. But in DC it was lagging for such a looonng time in the begining it made me mad. This was also a first that he really kept telling the crowd to get hype under many occasion. This never happened in Miami or in the Guv, he was always smiling and really impacted on how the crowd was giving him soooo much support. You can see it in his reactions. Im not saying in DC he didnt get support. But from what im seen in the past it was dead for several of times in the first 2-3 hours of tunes played. I have pics in where no one is not doing anything versus people going insane non stop after each tune. I think it was the crowd, but more the venue. Its not really a Trance venue. It needs to provide better sound and much more darker area. Most good club have better lighting people. Glow has sick lights but it was too well lit up for a Trance event. It wasnt a rock or house event we went out to see. And the sound played a big role in what I thought of Glow. Coming from Miami a huge party scene I know whats a good sounding system is like. It was great visiting DC but disappoint how a big show didnt impact me.

Hi, I never post on here but one of my interns brought this post to my attention. I hate to break the news to you but I have to defend D.C. and Glow on this. For the record, Glow in D.C. has been the home for many trance DJs for years. Armin and Ferry were doing a bi monthly residency for two years before they had a gig in Miami. They have probably played in D.C. over 20 times each! D.C. is not some little hick town that never gets talent. BUZZ was one of the first EDM club nights in the nation! Glow was the first US gig for the likes of Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren and many more. If your definition of "Trance Venue" is a club that charges $50+ for admission and when you get there makes you wait in line for 3 hours forcing you to buy a $1000 table to get in...then we are not that. D.C. has a nice little scene thank you very much

I'm glad you posted because I'd like my opportunity to express my disappointment in your sound system, too. I visited last fall for Armin's gig in October and left with one of the worst sets of ringing ears I've ever had. I go out in New York at least weekly on average, having been to Crobar, Pacha, Spirit, Avalon, Love, Cielo, B.E.D., Sullivan Room, Roxy, Roseland, Element, and more, and it's never that bad. The vibration at the back, near the stage opposite the booth, was unbearable and I can't imagine how the people that stayed back there could take it all night.

Other than that, we had a good time, though. If you could just improve on improving the sound (or try to explain how you have since then, if you indeed, have), we'd be happy to come by the next time we're in DC.

P.S. - Go BT and Deep Dish (well, Deep Dish a few years ago)

Looks like I got your attention. Which is actually very good. You must think I dont know what kind of venue Glow is. I know Glow brings numerous acts just in the months to come Ferry, Dubfire is coming and many more. My opinion can be supported by many people that Club Glow sound system was near horrible that night, yet alone the lighting was slack, I suggest you guys get rid of that guy and bring someone to better, the lighting was something that I noticed had potential of being good but the guy working them sucked!!!. One thing I appreciated about Glow was its low ticket price for that event, not only that nearly all event you guys throw is in the 20-25 dollar range. And no ur wrong in Miami they dont charge 50 for a show, so dont go on making stories. If you didnt know in Miami the main Trance/EDM club is highly respectable, and only top acts are welcomed. And it sould be a honor to play there.DC has a great scene but not in that Club that night. I have been to DC numerous times when I got on my visits to our company in New Jersey. And I been to other clubs besides Glow, and to be honest was anxious to go fooooorrr a looonnng time. But was highly disppoint how it carried a legendary show like Armins. He may have played 20+ times there but nothing will compare to the energy I have seen in other placed as Miami and NY and TO. If it brings some satisfaction to you to say Panorama has brought Armin & Ferry several times. Then so be it. But who ever had 15-20,000 dollars to spare or for a 6hr show maybe 32-45 thousand at most. All I got to say Club Glow/Fur is a respectable place but it didnt show that night. Which made it horrible for nearly all my friends and business partner that night it was 7 of us that left in shame. So its not only me but many more people. It may have been a successful venture that night, but how successful was it if may people agree with what I just said. Im not try to be a pest nor disrespect you, if anything im glad you guys do what you do to keep the EDM scene alive. But obviously Club Glow has some work to be done. If you dont think so I think your being indenial of the facts.

I agree with you. Im not sure what tunes it was but my fav song of the night Trancentral I had to cover my ears during and some time after its climax. I was pissed. Also during G SPOT Session 6. I have never experienced such a ringing that highly disturbs your hearing and the unstopping tingling sensation of your eardrum feeling pain. INSANNNEEE. So much for 100,000 wat Avalon speakers.

For the record, Glow had much more ppl when Tiesto played (now that was a clusterfuk).
Was bad until 2-2:30 when pl started leaving, and Armin played all goodies after 2:30.
Btw i was wearing shirt with "I <3 ASOT" on the back and "PREVED ARMIN" on teh front

And advise, whenever some1 like Tiesto or Armin comes, its pretty lame to cry about things like dirty flooer and club being packed as hell, just enjoy the trance and get what u paid for
I personally didnt like the sound, floors, and club being packed up to the point when i said "fk it, imma just enjoy Armin and thats it"

@ spacemasters

just for the record, i have been clubbing in dc for over 5 years now...and ONE not so great night doesn't mean:

1) dc gets shitty acts
2) the vibe at glow is bad
3) armin didn't interact with the crowd

i have seen armin in dc, hmm, probably 15+ times....and he LOVES it. i have seen him COME out into the crowd, dancing with everyone, i have seen him have dinner with all of the dcta's...i have seen him love dc and dc certainly love him.

just because you are from miami does not give you the right to "judge" our clubs in dc, because we get probably every act that space and other miami club gets. i mean, we had freaking sasha as a RESIDENT at glow...so come on now.

point of the matter is, it was a really crowded night...but you should have known that anyway...so why did you go then? if you had a problem with armin's set, take it up with armin and not dc....because 9/10 he is absolutely fantastic here. i have seen armin in nyc AND miami too, and he was nowhere near as good. and shit- i am a house lover as late but i definitely feel the need to ALSO defend dc and glow.

Hmmm, as far as the sound being bad I could only see that being true if you were away from the main floor. When I was standing at the bar to the far right or far left I could tell that a lot of the sounds weren't getting to me but then again, who hangs out there all night when Armin is in town?

And Armins set was great and he started it off nice and easy for us. I don't like walking into a club and having trance blasting at me at 135+ BPM as soon as I walk in the door. He kept a nice pace going before deciding to start laying the trance on us. Besides, he had a 6 hour set to work with. And for him telling the crowd to get hype, well, I have seen armin plenty and each and every time he does that. The crowd responds to him no matter what he does but he certainly didn't have to do much to get everyone going nuts.

You did get my attention, but I will be honest when I tell you that I don't let message boards dictate the way we run Glow because it only represents a very small percentage of our patrons. I'm not knocking Miami at all (however WMC people DO get screwed). The reason I stopped looking at message boards is because people have become too critical and need to just enjoy the music. Anyways, I disagree with you that our light guy sucks and I think that our sound system is very good and better then 95% of the clubs out there. Anyways, shoot me for saying this but I wish people would just enjoy the night and stop being so critical. Yes you pay money, but don't get mad because the dj "played a similar set in Ibiza the week before" or because the sound was not perfect or because you think the lights could have been better. I learned a long time ago that in this business you can't make everyone happy. However I can look into the mirror everyday knowing that I am one of the few that DOES MAKE THE EFFORT. I take personal financial risks every week to bring talent and throw a good party. But don't get me wrong, I'm not bitching...I am one of the 10% that enjoys his job I'm glad we can have a civil conversation on this. It's late...I'm going to sleep!
