and personally i see this as agressive as forcing to vote when logging in or doing some sort of a pop-up thingy.
i just don't see a point in all this. why do you need the votes so much? and is this really a good way to get these votes you so much want?

seriously look at all of the arguing it caused

I agree. I know TA is free, Swamper works on it for free and all, but what exactly is the purpose of the poll, and the whole promotion around it? To compete with dj mag's, a poll that causes a ton of retarded bullshit in the scene, that every fan seems to hate, and that is already too established in the scene to ever be surpassed in credibility? To get results specifically for the trance scene, when last year's results were nearly identical to dj mag's, only slightly more lunatic? I don't really understand the point.

No competition - for that it would be opened up for everyone to vote, but that's a big headache to police in terms of fraudulent entries.

As for the claim that people will place B.S. votes - I measured the time between initially landing on the voting page upuntil vote submission and compared that to the variance once the thread reminder was implemented (different tracking URL - r=t (reminder=thread) is on the link) - statistically speaking, the average time was on par - so I have no worries about the results being less 'accurate'.

If you don't like it - opt out. Simple.
