I can just see all the ginos on the 9th being like "what the heck is this? Is this trance?" I guess the word trance DJ for Tiesto, Armin and PVD is kind of pointless, electronic music DJ would be more suitable. As for this whole what's Tiesto spinning now debate, I agree with those who pointed out that Tiesto has been including different styles in his sets for a while now. I guess the difference now is that he is including more house elements than ever before.
Some are gonna like this.. others not so much.
Personally, I'd hate it if he would stop playing trance.. but hey, he is an artist and if other styles are appeal to him more, so be it.
By moving away from trance he may be abondoning the core of his fanbase.. yet, it's no fun seeing a dj who is not feeling the stuff he's spinning.
