Hell yes. That was most of the reason for my habit...sheer boredom. I think that's why I don't physically crave them as much, cause it wasn't about the nicotine.

Its all good when I'm not thinking about cigs....but what to do when you are thinking about 'em????

I haven't really had any major cravings. It'll pop into my head a few times a day, but I just acknowledge it and move on. The feeling passes in a minute or two. I drink lots of water too...so when that hand-to-mouth craving comes, I just take a sip of water instead.

Honestly, any time the thought pops in my head...my initial reaction is disgust, which helps BIG time.

It really is something you have to truly want and commit to. It's all psychological. The physical dependency/withdrawal peaks after 3 or 4 days....so anything after that is just will power and attitude.

Same here. I was smoking rougly a pack-a-day and my parents always wanted me to quit. So a week later, out of nowhere, i looked into my cig. box and saw i had one cigarette left. Needless to say, it was the most delicious cigarette i ever had and the last one i ever had. It has been over two months now of not smoking. It was suprisingly easy for me to kick the habit as well. I feel if you are strong mentally than you can overcome an easy addiction like cigarettes.

I find it harder to kick the habit of smokin dat weed! I have been clean of anything intoxicating, including alcohol for alittle over a month. I always wanted to smoke weed tho. It was on my mind everyday and i just kept saying to myself "Damn Mike Jones, you cant be goin around smokin weed your whole life" lol and suprisingly enough i didnt smoke weed. I cant even begin to tell you how much better i was feeling after quitting weed and alcohol.

But anyway, good luck.

If youre going to start smoking, i recommend American Spirit, lights (yellow box). They contain no chemical additives regular brands use.

i discovered its VERY easy to quit smoking when ur flatout BROKE! i ran outta money beginning of semester (and when i say no money i mean NOT A CENT) and havent smoked a cigarette since! my parents have helped me out a litle with money til i get a steady part time job but even still i made a promise not to spend THEIR money on cigarettes. a commitment i am proud that i have been able to stick to

I still haven’t rejoined my gym, but I plan on doing that very soon…definitely before the end of the year, so I’m sure once I get back in workout mode, I’ll drop the cigs. It’s not that hard for me, I just make up my mind to do it, and I do it.

anyone else just enjoy having a smoke because it's something to do?

yeah thats my problem, when i have nothing to do @ home or when i wanna take a break on something, i just light a smoke....but ive quit for a few days now, doing well
