I only even know the race of a handful of artists I listen to, and that's only from seeing album art or promotional pictures, etc. I don't go out of my way to find out, you know? I couldn't even participate at that site if I wanted to, since I wouldn't know which artists are black and which are white.
And it's quite absurd that those assholes over there think it matters -- even more so when it comes down to music. I mean, what, do they listen to a song and think, "Damn that was awesome" and then hunt down for a picture of who made it, "Oh, he's black, uh, THAT WAS CRAP!" ??? Wtf...
Seems so fucking backwards (and it is and should.)
I mean, it's one thing to take a statistic like blacks make up the majority of prison population, or the fact that a black male in Minnesota is 33 times more likely to end up in jail in his lifetime than a white of same age -- because those aren't racially fueled 'ideas', those are statistics based on what's going on... but to judge something like MUSIC based on someone's skin color ... fucking crazy, and just plain stupid. I mean, you just can't say, "This white artist produces better tracks than this black artist" -- the songs could sound fucking identical and they'd still say that.
