OMFG do NOT buy them. michelle ended up using them and they were HORRIBLE. dead in like 20mins! stick with canon or good immitations.

The Fuji battery (new) is rated at 580 pics per charge, I tried to run mine down after taking pics at Spundae Circus (so as not to store it on a full charge, which is bad for Li-Ion batteries). I left the slide show running for over an hour and it still showed a completely full charge...I can't seem to run this thing down!
Spare OEM Fuji batteries are $40...I did buy one, but doubt if I will ever need it! As for audio quality of videos, the only way to adjust video sound level is on playback, similar to most other pocket-size cams. I think the distortion we hear is from the cams recording at the highest line level in, which is fine for normal conversations but not to record blasting speakers! Here's a vid that I took with my F30 (Johan Gielen) - haven't had it long enough to test in different settings, but hopefully this helps!
I always use only OEM batteries with my cameras. If you ever need to send your camera in for service, NEVER mention that you used another kind of battery as this voids the warranty. If the battery's bad enough, it may ruin the camera and they may figure it out anyway though. New cameras are easily $300 and up these days, not worth trying to save $30 and ruining them imo...

Cool. Thanks! The first time my battery died was at Giant Maximus in the middle of Armin's set. I had taken a lot of pictures and video that night, but was very surprised that it didn't last the whole event. I just want to make sure when I go to another event like that I have a backup.

long battery life's another sticking point, considering i shoot 200-300 pics for an average-length event. the fuji's lasts approx two days, you said?!
Audio isn't the greatest on the F30. But at least it doesn't distort. If there is alot of bass, thats all you hear. It does a little better if your not right on top of the speakers buts thats where I always am.
