I completely agree with you. ...while I don't feel there's anything wrong with discussing some other styles of music on a trance board, it starts getting to the point where "tranceaddict" is no longer a place to discuss trance music, but instead the craddle for scores of topics seething with topics in the manner of "oh, house is the rage now I think I like it better".
Yep, I totally agree with you. There's no way house is any good and definitely no way it's better than trance.

Well, I wouldn't go as far as saying that house isn't ANY good. There are a very few house tunes that I find decent to enjoyable, but I'd have to say that I almost invariably find trance the superior genre, especially because of its melodically based qualities. That was one of the core reasons why I found trance so appealing in the first place.
But I'm not a close-minded person in the least...I also find MANY other genres and styles to my taste, from classical to indie to euro-gothic/metal, they just all have to be STRONGLY melodic and definitely not "random" or terribly harsh. Trance happens to be my favorite.

Umm...I'm not sure, which statement were you intending to be jocular?...I quite frankly don't think that the notion of a "house discussion" would be a bad idea.

Like I said, I'd love to post about trance. But there just isn't much to talk about.
So why on earth do you feel inclined to be judging a style of music based on its current condition? There's a history if you didn't notice, one that has a lot of great listening material. You don't have to be talking about every freaking new tune being released in order to be a fan and discuss the positive aspects of a style of music.
...and trance isn't exactly "hopelessly horrific" right now. ANY style of music is dominated by mostly worthless material, at least, in my opinion. ...what makes you think there should be an exception in order to warrant a better interest?

i still lissen to trance to relax and sing to melody. But when i wanna really loose myself to the beat, trance just isn't enough. I dont consider most of trance as dance music, more like happy mood music, that's why i prefer random noise.

I fail to see where anyone has launched an assault on threads about older trance. I love them personally.

Yeah, seriously. The old trance threads always do well.

Probably 'cuz they mainly cover obvious classics like Age Of Love, What Time Is Love and We Came In Peace over and over and over again. Most people just haven't heard anything past that.
And if you happen to mention anything else, you get a bunch of confused looks and/or you get completely ignored. Quite a shit situation TA has fallen in, really.
"What do you think about Love Stimulation? Oh, so you agree it's the best. Let's hold hands and dance around in a circle!"
