I arrived around 9am to hear De-koze. Just when I thought I had seen everything previously at CZ ... I see some guy and girl getting very dirty on the speaker (she was wearing a skirt)...I'm sure you can figure out what was going on. Come on people have some class !

I got to the Zone on Sunday morning at around 6:15am and waited for quite a while to get in. Between the door not opening until around 6:30am, and the VIP privileges of groups of 15 people at a time, I waited 45 minutes in line even with a little monetary incentive to bypass the line. I couldn't feel my toes by the time I got in. At least I was entertained by Alex the doorman's one-liners that I haven't heard in a while. My favourite was, "Stop fucking poking me! Wait your turn to get in. Your $10 is as good as his $10. What do you think this is, a fucking fish market?!" Good times...

I was able to catch about 2 hours of The Roaches' set. Good job guys. Carlo especially once again impressed me with his Chicago flavoured house, and funky tech stuff. Keep up the good work man!

Deko-ze hit the decks and played an average Deko-ze set with the big tunes. He did have a couple of really cool funkier tracks sprinkled in here and there that reminded me a lot of what Mark Farina would play. The set did its purpose, but 4 hours of House Music's Top 40 Megamix was a bit much. 2 hours would have been a lot better.

Up until this point, it was a pretty average day at The Zone. I'd even go as far as saying that the crowd was pretty dead and unresponsive. Not to say that they weren't going off from time to time, but for the Zone, it was pretty tame. That was until Entrena hit the decks. Jesus fucking christ did the place do a complete 180 right from track #1. The place pretty much exploded when he started with the accapella from "It Began in Afrika". That was definitely one of the craziest I have ever seen that room. Pretty much the whole dancefloor in front of the DJ booth, and especially the people on the stage were jumping up and down, screaming and pumping their fists for a good portion of his set. You could definitely tell that Entrenna was loving every single moment of it. He looked like the happiest person in the whole club.

Tribal house isn't really my favorite kind of music, and if I heard Entrena's set in another club I would have thought it was pretty average, or even repetitive, but fuck did it ever serve its purpose. When I go to The Zone, I hope to hear good music, but the main reason I go is to witness the insanity that has the potential of taking place when The Zone is on. And was the Zone ever on on Sunday! It's days like this that remind me why The Zone is the best place in the city to go if you want a balls-to-the-wall party.

Vinyl Junkies picked up very nicely from where Entrenna left off. I'm not the biggest VJs fan, but from the 45 minutes or so I heard of their set, I was extremely impressed. Definitely the best I've heard from them. When I left in the late afternoon, the place was still surprisingly very busy. I would have liked to stay longer, but the amount of energy I expended during Entrenna's set left my almost a cripple by the end of it.

What made this day even better were the amount of friends and TAs that were around. It's not very often that you get that many TAs in The Zone, but when we're there, we definitely know how to keep the vibe up. Shoutouts to my front-and-center stage crew.

Oh, one last thing. The best part of the day is when, during a breakdown of a track during Entrena's set, Jon Jon yells "MIKEY ANTENNA!!!" and he actually turned around to look who said it.

Classic.

Oh boy...

So....

After wasting most of my energy babysitting a newbie sketchbag, doing robot dances, cheerleader moves, and losing my voice at Sonic, I was ready for the next round of bday celebrations at CoZo with Kris. I was pretty scared, to go to the Zone, for the first time...probably because I hadn't been there under the influence since my first time back in 2005; I was already soaring really high. We made it to the line at some point in the morning...perhaps it was 7:30? Sometime before Deko-ze started. There was quite a lineup and they weren't accepting bypasses, which was quite fortunate in my state of mind. I needed the fresh air, and I was having such a wonderful time staring at the fast moving, easily manipulated clouds. I had an argument, not with Kris, but with my feet. They wouldn't stop swaggering since we left Sonic! It was not a winning battle for me...so I gave in. Grr.

We made it in probably 30 minutes after...with no complaints from me. Was surprised to run into a whole bunch of you folk that early! From the moment I entered the Comfort Zone, up to the moment where I left, it was a religious journey. I failed the tests of righteousness... leading me into the depths of hell... You think I wanted to leave? Get me my pitchfork bitches!!! Sketchfactor wasn't in effect at all...probably because the roles were reversed this time, and I was too busy fighting my own. To be blunt, I will list everything that made my day, every moment of ridiculousness:

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

- Doing probably 5x the amount I used to normally do...I thought halves weren't effecting me at all...but apparently I was super sketchy. lol. Couldn't stop jumping at one point, especially in the upstairs bar area, where I used chairs and tables as props for a sketchy broadway dance.

- ^^ With that in mind, I came home to find red scrapes on my forehead, and a large bruise beside my left eye. I recall at some point, Brant giving me an awkward look, followed by him asking me if I felt or saw some guy passing by accidentally elbowing me in the face. This happened? I need confirmation as to HOW I got bruised!

- Dance, dance, dance! Loved the room we basically took over...and I embraced the heat for once, and dancing was never more enjoyable, especially with the numerous danceoffs. I love TA ladies!

- Caution: Elbows are no longer dangerous, but Cribby decided to pull a new move: The Slip-Slide-Fall!.... Once again, it was proven that clowns are clumsy...as I had a nasty wipeout. OUCH. Stupid slippery floor I blame it Bodyrockers - Round & Round (Switch Remix)...after the buildup hits and it goes crazy...aaaaah.

- I tried to find Ypñk, but had no luck. Instead, I was quite surprised to find Graham wearing a nice pair of glasses. I made the mistake not once, but twice.

- Boobies!!! *Drops some water*...*lix*

- There is only one body part of mine that wasn't bitten or molested. MY nipples need weeks to recover especially.

- Why does steam always come out from my shirt when I'm outside?! LOL

- "I need some coke..."
"Uh...."
"Dude...I need sugar in my body, help me get some coke"
"...."
"The DRINK!"
"OH...ok. Give me 5 minutes, I'm lazy."
"Dude...I feel weird. NEED coke"
"1 minute then?"
....
"My mind is mashed potatoes"
".... OK, let's go!"

- Having the Buffalo clowns come all the way from Buffalo. Well duh. lol. I learned how to properly do the Squirrel dance. Pick the berries!....Gather the nuts....eat the berries! But something still keeps me wondering...what happens to the nuts?

- Kris scaring the shit out of me with glowsticks...I almost cried.

- Fumasa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- Getting a sketchy lapdance from 2 of my favourite people.

- Sarah and Colin showing up at the zone

There's lots more...and this already sounds more like a blog...I had to share this though...because it's been 7 months since I've last been on the horse...won't happen any time soon again. I <3 Comfort Zone!!!!

Ok...and now the music. From what I remember, tunes were good. I throughly enjoyed each set, but nothing was phenomenal. Entrenna was awesome...no surprise there, but I was pretty pooped and lazy by the end of his set...I wish someone would have kicked me to get me dancing. Not sure If Entrenna read my post or not...but he totally made my day when he dropped the one tune I requested and wanted to hear...a tune he dropped last time as well. I screamed as loud as I could, possibly making half of you guys deaf and scared lol.

TRIBALICIOUNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hawaii - Pure (Janicki Mix)

I was speechless...actually not really. I wouldn't shut up. As if all of us weren't raw beasts already...I moved on to the next level of insanity.

"We are discussing something which needs your attention,
not your agreement of this ruling,
We are looking at life, objectively, clearly, it's what we like and don't like,
That house created this misery,

We see contradiction in us, about us,
Because we are in contradiction,
there is a lack of peace in us,
under the trust with us,
we cannot observe this fight together,
That thought and time are the route of fear,
time and thought are the same,
They are not two supported moments...

*THE AWESOME PART HITS HERE, AND CRIBBY'S HAVING A SEISURE*

Acid..."

I have been listening to this song 20 times a day - on the train to school, at school, at home...and I even felt a burst of energy hit me yesterday while I danced in my room...The last pill most of hit me then. bwahahaha. Fucking TUUUUUUUUUUUNE. Going nuts to this with everyone was the highlight.

Other than that...I also heard 2 other favourite songs of mine. Wow eh? What a bday gift...

The Roaches dropped Sebastien Leger & Chris Lake - Aqualight

and Deko-ze played my favourite ass shaking, summer tune of all time:

Deux - Sun Rising Up!!!!!

"I was waiting for nothing, for no one, for the END!"

Wow... I'm still recovering now...but what an afternoon. I will NEVER go the CoZo sober again...it's just not the same. It was truly great to party with everyone on my day, and big hugs and thx to those who came out. Was sad that Jimmy couldn't make it though. You were missed buddy!

I need to emphasize this one more time....

SKETCH!

I'll keep that in mind for the next outing.

That's the best analogy ever! It's better than my "time is nonexistant at zone" theory.

Understatement...wow...you gotta fill me in on some things. Namely, did you comment on something I did with my tongue...and then lick my tongue? LOL
