Yeah it may be more competitive but the legal profession is VERY competitive and not so "community" so you should factor this in.

I know what you mean when it comes to the US bar - we have that here with Michigan as well.

I think maybe the reason I'm psyching myself into going to Windsor is because I know that it's so hard to get into Toronto's law school, I'm afraid I won't get in - thus I'm setting myself up to not be disappointed. Nevertheless I'm going to apply to a wide range of schools - including Toronto.

CONGRATS Lisa!! I know this is a HUGE achievement!

I remember the days when I tried to achieve 'the impossible' & against 'all odds', however don't exclude going for the path that seems the hardest and most uphill. there's always lots of rumours floating around and everyone plus everyone's cousin, neighbour, haridresser & mechanic has an opinion. just do what you find right for yourself.

i also went through the same ordeals - 1) getting into UBC; 2) desperately wanting an internship with the UN in Geneva; 3) getting into one of the finest institutions in the world for Int'l Human Rights Law in the UK where all the profs are UN personell & they only accept 30 students/ year; 4) getting a job with the UN & Amnesty Int'l ... and most recently 5) completely changing the direction of my career in my early 30's wanting to teach. i have jumped through all these hoops and have come a long way. i have now arrived at my final destination after searching high and low and working my butt off for the last 3.5 years - and especially over the last year.

So...I also have some INSANE news!! after being on the long dreaded jobhunt FOREVER (which seems to be my constant companion) i just received a job offer last week and just finished my first week of teaching.

LIFE IS GOOD!

Keep believing in yourself & pushing against 'all those odds' & all of your dreams will come true! Noone knows better than you!
