Report Armin <>nly!!!!!!!!!1

By the announcement for this party it was said Armin would do a non-stop live set of 9 hours. This means it would break two records; longest set ever played at Club Eau and longest set Armin van Buuren would play himself. I was looking forward to this party as I hadn't seen Armin playing live yet and also because of the length of this event performed by one artist uninterrupted.
I arrived on the main floor in Club Eau at about 23h30 and very little people were dancing. It was more standing on the side and drinking. Everybody was getting into the club at this time. Armin was spinning some progressive house tunes to warm up the room. At 0h the club started to fill up really well and at 0h30 the perfect party atmosphere had been created. From this moment Armin threw in some beautiful tracks from those '99-'00 years like Airwave - Alone in the dark. This was just so nice. It looked like most of the people were really happy with this, to dance again to those amazing trance tunes. The first time the crowd went really mad was when Armin played Rank1 - Awakening. That was a truly amazing club moment.
I must mention here that Armins style was quiet predictable when it came to 'beat placing'. Comparing to Johan Gielen, where you never know when he'll throw in the beat, with Armin you could just feel when it was going to come. Later on, I think Armin 'read' the crowd for that, he started to put the beat earlier then you would expect it! Wicked! You're just dancing, moving your hands in the air and then suddenly; 'bam'! Wow! This was something new for me but really cool! All of us reacted to that pulsing beat by jumping up and down like crazy.
Dancing Crowd Every hour, on the huge video projections screens it would say "x hours to go!" The VJ did an excellent job I must say with all the lighting and superb lasers the club has. From about 1 am till 4 am Club Eau was most packed. People where dancing everywhere; on the mainfloor, the stages and on the balcony. As this set was going to last so long Armin varied well his track choice. Spinning new tracks and then later some of those 'golden' tunes like Riva - Stinger, Push - The Anthem, etc. Also during the whole party, now and then Armin played some trance tracks supported by break beats (Faithless - We come one). People went just mad when DHS - House of God was dropped! This was a nice shift though as it would be really hard to dance continuosly on 130-140 bpm. Another track that just had you jumping again was Tiesto's Lethal Industry. During these tracks you just feel all one with all the other clubbers out there, everybody smiling and jumping to the same beat.
After 4 am the mainfloor started to be less crowded. There were less people on the balcony too. You could see that for some, 5 hours of dancing was probably too much! I think that at 4h30 about 100-150 people were left on the floor of the original 600 or so. The die hard Armin fanatics where there to support him! And from 5 am Armin started giving us a real treat with beautiful trance and hardtrance oriented tracks! Even though I was a little tired after 6 hours of dancing this was the best moment of the party for me. Paul van Dyk - For an angel (!), David Forbes - Questions must be asked, Cygnus X - Orange Theme and Pulser - Cloudwalking! That was just so awesome to hear those tracks again! Madness on the dancefloor!
These were the kind of ingredients Mr. DJ was giving us spiced up with some new tunes like Solid Session - Janiero ofcourse. At 7 am not more then 100 party people were left moving, with the strenght they had left over after the whole night of wild dancing. This truly was for all of us including Armin van Buuren a trance marathon. Armin was commited to break his record and he did, contuining to play till 8h10! At 8 am no more then 75 people on the floor and Armin finishing his set with Iio - Rapture. This was the record breaking Armin Only 9 hours! I must say this is one of the best parties I have been to when it comes to music choice. I especially enjoyed those 'flashbacks' Armin made to those memorable trance years. Excellent party at the best club in town is all I can say!
