No line to get in the club @ 11:45. Armin started playing as soon as I walked into the main room.

40 min later he had a CD skip on him, forcing him to stop the music. Armin's set was not anything spectacular, some of the transitions were a little bumpy. Armin also had the sound maxed out which made the sounds really distorted. I know it was Armin and not the speakers because the beginning of the set sounded fine.

The crowd really thinned out about 45 min after last call. And the club left the AC on full blast, freezing everyone out the door.

5/10

armin definitely played different from the past and i figured there'd be people who wouldn't like that, but i enjoyed myself, it seemed like 99% of the crowd enjoyed themselves and so did armin. i couldn't get over how big the crowd was at 2, then at 3, then at 4. if he didn't stop playing, there'd still be several hundred people there dancing just hours before work i caught about 45 min of jason knight's set and he was pretty impressive. the only complaint i heard from people that caused them to leave early was that the bass was too overwhelming. i felt pretty hot at the very end so i'm glad there was a/c still goin around. it's better than the converse situation.

i got home from vegas at 10:45pm, showered and rushed over to get there at 11:30 to see a huge and excited crowd. unfortunately, first 30 minutes or armin almost had me bored, and the couple moments of bad mixing did throw me off. the bass was indeed turned up too high, and it was way too hot in there. for a while, i thought all of these negatives was just me being TOTALLY SOBER, but i think they're at least partially true.

biggest highlight for me on this particular night was enjoying watching the crowd from back very back downstairs, or the balcony upstairs. i almost NEVER do that because i'm way up front, but this was a really fun crowd of fans to watch. so i saw that most everyone else had a blast.

most annoying thing about the night was the aggressive nature of the crowd down on the floor, or was it just me? these armin fans seemed so rabid that this may have been the most agressive pushing and plowing through i've ever experienced at ruby skye, all throughout the main floor. and i could never get more than a minute of personal space without someone stopping 3 inches in front of my face.

so this was an okay night for me (i've never understood why armin is SO popular anyways), but very cool to see so many people out on a sunday night.

Yes the bass was a bit overwhelming but nothing compared to Giant Village oh MY GOD>>> THe sound down there sucked balls and the sad thing is that I dont think many people cared or even noticed..

In some tracks the built up would be sooo beautiful and then when it was ready to drop, you would not hear the highs.. only the LOUD bass overpower everything all muffled and distored.. No One did nothing to fix the issue.. Sucked!!!!!!! So the sound at Ruby Skye was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! At Giant He dropped Beautiful and all you heard was the bass and the vocals where gone.. could not hear them or nothing..

All in All I am very happy to have gone to the SF show.. It was great, minus the few skips here and there but shyt cut Armin a break

he played in NY for 6hrs then LA for 8:15 minutes from what I heard he started playing at 7:45pm.. Then he comes to SF and tores it up for 4.5 hours.. AMAZING!!

his set was pure energy, when I got in to the club it was already 12am and he had the crowd jumping.. There was many people jumping, and dancing like maniacs (including me) but there comes a time when you need to relax and be polite to the people behind you.. Another great thing about last night is that I have never seen the Balcony at Ruby Skye still open past 3:30am.. People would not leave and Armin did not want to stop playing..

Anyway guys GREAT times and yes Armin will be #1 this YEAR!

Will post pics/video in a few...

I agree abuot GV. The bass was waayyy overpowering. It didnt ruin things for me just didnt make it as great as it could have been. I think some of it might have to dowith the reverb from the skyscrapers (i dont they engineered them for concerts haha). Definitely ruined some great buildups but the night was still awesome. The crowd was awesome as well, havni fun and nobody being obnoxiuos that I saw.

SHIT Just got home from work. Wasnt expecting an 11 hour day after Armin

Fun night all around, first hour was way too electro-housy for Armin, a little boring. He turned it up the last few hours. But once the crowd started clearing out it got way better. I'll post a more detailed review once when my batteries recharge.

SUNDAY FUNDAY TO THE MAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!!!!!!!!

Got there around 10:45 PM...heard the last hour of Jason's set, very impressive. I think it was a perfect way to build up to Armin.

Overall I was disappointed with the Armin's set...The bass was definately too high, you just couldn't hear anything in the buildups except the loud thumping! Also Armin's set seemed more electro-house, at times to techy! Where were all the uplifting tracks that he is known to play...yes agree that he played many Aly & Fila tracks so there were a few thrown in there but overall, don't you think that this was not his usual style?

I guess that's why I am a bit disappointed...the highlight though was definately the crowd! Even though it was a sunday night, there was a great turnout, and people were definately having a great time! It was a bit too crowded upfront, but atleast it didn't get stuffy...the AC definately did it's job!

All in all glad I went, just wish the bass had been turned down a notch, and the track selection had been different...
