The interesting part about Cuba is that anyone in there got Health coverage for a really cheap price ( if anything ), and this woman getting medicine for 5 cents compared to the 100+ dollars she spends for the same here in the US.

They were able to get treated with top of the line equipment where as here in the US they were just getting worst.

Just examples.

Really loved the movie and Michael Moore really focuses on the wrong perception that the American People have been induce to think about Universal Coverage, and how the US ranks 36 I think it was right next to Slovenia on terms of it's Health Insurance. Also interesting tape from the Nixon about HMO's. Great movie for Americans to see and for once go out and protest about it .

Yup.

It's no coincidence that the national and international drug sale sites have been made illegal. And that poppy flowers are illegal.

Can't have people realizing that health options are available for cheap, or even free.

Finally, some feedback! Glad you enjoyed it! I'll just be interested to know what the others think too!

I haven't seen this movie, but I'd honestly take anything this man makes with a grain of salt. A good example would be how he talked about the Canadian system, which sucks, but apparently so much better than the American one. Apparently in the movie, he goes into the ER in London, Ontario and asks people how long they have to wait to get service, to which they reply "30 minutes"...is that correct? If so then that's bullshit. I've never, ever, ever, ever heard of anyone receiving care that quickly. My friend waited EIGHT hours with a bunch of cracked ribs to see a doctor.

It's like any set of stats, depeonds on who you ask.

He recently had to concede that Canadians have to wait longer on average to see their GP. Fewer Canadians were able to see their GP within 2 days, than Americans. On the flip side, I can make an appointment with my doc this morning, to see him this afternoon.

Simple conclusion, the ER could have been less crowded that day, or that in London, wait times are lower than in the rest of the GTA.

He was not trying to be fair to the US health system, because he says its not fair to the people. Those were not stats, they were interviews, and he is just trying to hammer home a message: Socialized health care, is not the start of communism! lol

does he have his next film project lined up?
I've been reading on Digg that he's geared up to launch a full scale attack on "YOU" (in a letter directed at CNN) and other media outlets.

Yeah, or I guess a sequel to Fahrenheit 9/11. It seems as if initially the attention after the release of his films is on the topic but quickly becomes overshadowed by controversy and Moore's own actions. I wonder how long Moore will last before the controversy surrounding his films completely overshadow the content.

I think that sequel will be called "Fahrenheit 9/11 ½". ;-)

Aye. It's really a shame, because the importance of his work isn't only the points he has to get across, but the lumination his works create.

It causes people to see what they don't want to see, and think in ways they may not have before. I believe this is partly why there is a backlash to many of his films: people fear the unknown, they fear change... but this is a natural progressive stage between shadows and truth.

Funny. In Canada we have people lobbying for privatized healthcare and in the States, it's the other way around.

Grass is always greener on the other side.

No, actually people are terrified of his crazed approach to the documentary medium. Documentaries have a very interesting history, where many documentaries through time have taken a scientific approach to what they are studying. They offer more "illumination" on our world because they attempt to simply observe, rather than set out to prove points as does the traditional Hollywood narrative.

Cases of Moore embellishing and outright lying to prove his points are well documented in many of the "documentaries" he has put together. I really hope he goes after news corporations, as it will possibly be the most hilarious enactment of the old saying "the pot calling the kettle black."

Well, my point was that when you see something new and alien and bold, it causes you to analyze a new fragment of your consciousness and find the median between what you're thinking and what you know.

A natural reaction is to deny the content, rather then embrace the idea itself of questioning the world we inhabit... which should be a given, in my opinion, for everyone, and most likely will be eventually.

While Moore himself is the product of 20/21st century politics, the fabric of what he has to give is beyond the principles of current policies or temporal linearities. We loathe change, so its in our nature to deny these kinds of rapid and intense "plugins" to our world-thought, by downplaying their direct character as opposed to our own ethereal and collective character.

PS: Everything you are told by the "big guns" are going to be against this fellow, because he is against the "big guns". Take what you will from it, and just think for yourself... you're not a TV set.
