I agree, but do it for 20 odd years and you are bound to have a night here and there where it just seems like any job and you would rather be at home or out with your mates.

Beatflux:
GHB is like a liquid version of mdma that is consumed with beverages, it also happens to be used in date rape crimes as it can have similar effects to rohypnol. Both variations are evil and have no place in the dance music industry (Not suggesting there is a place for any illeagal substance, but some have played a key part in it's development, like it or not). Turns you into a comatose zombie and you will most likely be ejected by the bouncers or even taken away in an ambulance.
GHB is evil kids, so stay well away.

Cheers

Yeah, I've done quite a few house parties where, although I enjoyed it for the best part, I wished I could leave the decks alone for an hour and go and socialise... I think I'd call that the early stages of what you're talking about

GHB is one of the most common drugs found in Toronto and Montreal. It is NOT liquid MDMA.

quote:
gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid (4-hydroxybutanoic acid, C4H8O3), commonly abbreviated GHB, is a therapeutic drug, an illegal drug in multiple countries,[1] and a naturally occurring substance found in the central nervous system, wine, beef, small citrus fruits and almost all other living creatures in small amounts.

In a medical setting, GHB is used as a general anesthetic, to treat conditions such as insomnia, clinical depression, narcolepsy, and alcoholism, and to improve athletic performance. It is also used illegally under the street names Juice or Liquid Ecstasy, either as an intoxicant, or as a date rape drug. As well, the human body's cells naturally produce GHB. GHB is structurally related to the ketone body beta-hydroxybutyrate. As a drug it is used most commonly in the form of a salt. [2] GHB is also produced as a result of fermentation and so is found in small quantities in some beers and wines.

But,

GHB is evil kids, so stay well away.

Bleeding heck!!!
I have only ever heard it described as such, but what you are describing makes more sense and would explain the reaction that people get a lot better. Good info!

Still don't understand the buzz people get from it, and why they would want to go to a club to get into that state. Waste of a good night out if you ask me. It sadens me that it's so common though as it does give this industry a bad name.

Cheers

No, but it is referred to as liquid ecstacy sometimes which I think is where the statement came from.

Horrible stuff, it kills you. Luckily its use in the UK is relatively limited but it still happens.

sorry i really disagree there, some of my best nights have been on G, if you get the right dose its 100 times better an being drunk and legal (GBL here, which is pretty much identical to GHB). Its nothing like MDMA, just like a clear headed drunkeness. you take 4ml you will be out cold for 4 hours, but 1.5mls is brilliant. Mixing on a G high is amazing.

i always take some when i go out clubbing, pop 2.1mls before you go in then keep it topped up with beer i havent raped anyone (shock horror)

I didn't at any time suggest that people who take it are rapists. But people with bad intentions use it to spike the drinks of unsuspecting individuals, making them very compliant or unconcious. This was used as a reference to suggest the state that some people might end up in, nothing more.

Sure, if you take it responsibly I'm sure it must have something that attracts people.

But there was a stage when a lot of clubs simply had people passed out in sofas and other random places, which in turn was giving clubbing a really bad name, because basically a room with loud music that has people passed out in looks pretty shit and does kill the atmosphere.

fair point there, you do have to be careful with the stuff, if you for one minute think you know it, it kicks you in the bollocks! ive never purposely overdone it, but i've been close and it was scary

GBL is a lot harder to spike drinks with, its near damn impossible to mask the taste in any drink.
