Russian people are some of the most defensive people you've ever met.

They are extremely defensive and protective of the Russian culture, even if they've never sampled it in real life but got it from their parents. This is especially visible with Russian-American immigrants here. Many of them were born in the States or came when they were very young, but it doesn't stop them from praising and defending Russia while ridiculing the host country.

I agree it seems bizarre, but that's the case with most Russian-speaking immigrants.

Yes, I outdid myself and did some personal attacks as well, but I am not going to let people walk all over me, I am not a pussy you know ...

I cannot myself say which one's better. To me Canada and Russia are equally important and loved. If you were an ethnic born of another country you should feel the same way about your countries. Canadian politics are very boring though. So you probably won't see me politicizing on that much. Thats one thing I love about Canada ... how quiet and peaceful it is here. Dont have to worry about polonium poisionings when dealing with Russian people here (who are treated with better respect and rights than in UK). Russians are painted as evil people in UK, especially the media. Canadians are loved throughout the world the most ... for good reasons.

Canadian media, for example, has treated this whole Berezovsky case with better neutral view (though not quite neutral). In UK, they have already decided who's guilty and who's to blame ... well, nothing new, eh?
