My cousin had one in college, but for the life of me I can't remember why. Anyway, we shared the upstairs of his uncle's house for a couple of years, so I witnessed the beeper taking the toilet plunge and meeting its demise. Good stuff.

Yes people still use it. I was in a meeting a few days ago and this mans beeper goes off. I looked at him and said, " buddy, you still use that thing, it's like acient. Get with the time, Fred". He responds back, " Why should I upgrade, this is just perfect for me, it's not like I need to have a phone on me at all times. Besides this is cheap..hold on, I need to use the phone" Idiot. This coming from a man who makes over 100, 000 a year? AND YOU DON'T WANT TO BUY A CELL?? holy.

my boss has one. Anytime I talk to him, all I can concentrate on is the beeper (which he holds on his shirt pocket). In my head its like:

"beepers, gonna go off. any second. just wait. here it comes. yep, it's coming, the beep is coming."

it's like Chinese water torture.
