Club Fusion
Guys, last night me and my friend went to Club Fusion, the one I told you about earlier.
The club is a small shithole located in the middle of city slums, in downtown Baltimore (Boston Street). When the bouncer gave me the little "over-21" thing to put around my wrist, and took my money, I entered the club area and saw a bedroom-size stage and a bar.
They actually have two rooms (stages), as I found out later: one for Hip-Hop, and the other for Trance/Techno. The room that you see first is for Hip-Hop. Some college kid was mixing in that room (not very well, either), and everybody kept staying there! The Trance room was virtually empty!
My friend told me that by 12 o'clock the Trance stage would become full. However, throughout the whole night, everybody was dancing to Hip-Hop, and almost no one to Trance! Emil M (Russian kid from UMBC, who mixed Trance there) was spinning to a nearly empty stage. From time to time, a few girls in groups tried entering the stage and dancing (by the way, ever notice how girls always dance in groups?), but then they'd instantly become self-conscious that they were the only ones dancing, and leave the stage and go back to the Hip-Hop room, where there were lots of people.
I was very offended that Hip-Hop drew a larger crowd than Trance! The only time when the Trance stage suddenly came alive was when the DJ dropped Darude - Sandstorm.
Not much else to say about it I guess. The mixing and track selection were below average, and the club left a lot to be desired. The crowd was mostly 18-22-year-olds, same slutty girls and their clueless boyfriends
