no not completely, the master out died.

i think the master out pre-amp chip blew, there was a pop and then the sound died and the room smelt like burning silicon.

its still under warranty, and tbh if something like this is going to break itll either be in the first 6 months or after 6 years. if it breaks again when i get it back then ill start worrying but im ok with it for now.

i did google the problem when it happened and it doesnt seem like anyone else is sharing the tale of woe so im hoping its just a one off!

Rubbish! Analogue always colors your signal. The more expensive brands like A&H just add a nice color which makes it sound a little sweeter. If you want pure same in/same out digital is probably closer, albeit colder since it doesn't color the sound in the same favorable way an A&H would.

probably going to get pick this up this week.

question though...

with just the one filter, can you independantly filter 2 channels at once.

for example...if I am using the high pass filter, can I filter one track in, while I filter the other one out at the same time?

thanks

Nope.

There's only one frequency knob, so you can filter two (or more) channels in OR out simultaneously at the same time, but you can't filter tracks differently at the same time.

thats what I thought, then I saw the knobs under each channel...I figured that was a filter knob for each channel at first.

Nope, they're the fx send levels. There's just one filter frequency knob which is just under the HP/BP/LP buttons on the right hand side.

Damn, looks like 95% of what I'd ever want in a mixer. Although...I will probably just continue to survive with my DN-X1500...

Yeah, my X1500's done me proud - there are a couple of minor annoyances but overall I've been very happy with it. Any mixer I could possibly upgrade to would lack a couple of features I'd miss from the X1500.
