I still want someone to give me a good, rational explanation why anybody should care.

You realize damn near most DJs/producers have the same type of advertising, right?

If worse comes to worse, Tiesto will remain @ #3. But I have strong prediction that Tiesto will gain one spot to #2. We all hoped that Armin would be would be number #1 since 2002. I really think he should of been number 1 in 2003. Some say that The Top 10 is bullshit. But will see in a few days. Paul van Dyk did get some good reviews from Cochella festival as well Summerstage in NY, as well as a new album, which actually sounds lot better than last one. I am no way a big fan of PVD. If I had to pick out a favorite DJ. It has to be Ferry Corsten. But DJ Mag doesnt seem to agree. Heheh

And why isn't it? What purpose does it serve other than to rank artists solely on popularity and not musical merit? What good does it do when artists start watering their sets and productions down in order to keep appealing to the masses, which will in turn result in a higher ranking, which then results in them having higher booking fees, etc.?
Really, how is it not bullshit? How can anybody sit there and justify the validity of this when someone who has never, ever played in a club or produced a tune/remix made the #110 spot, just because a forum wanted to prove a point?

The people who repeatedly keep telling it doesn't matter seem to care the most for some strange reason.
