Is the Maven the same as the Xone3d or Korg Zero 8? I thought the latter 2 were mixers with midi functionality. I thought the Maven was a midi controller with onboard soundcard.

If you use the Maven, do you no longer need a DJ mixer? If you don't then I retract my earlier posts about the value of the Maven. Or if I've misunderstood what the Xone3d and Zero 8 are then again ignore my earlier posts.

If you do still need a seperate mixer with the Maven, where as the Zero8 and Xone3d, you don't, then they aren't really comparable in terms of value and I stand by what I have said...

It is a midi controller. So if you want to mix only in Ableton then no you don't need an extra mixer, but if you want the Ableton mix to be mixed with something else then you need an audio mixer.

Its not apples and oranges. Its what people prefer. The Mavern is just one alternative to control music software. In that way its the same as korg zero 8, xone 3-d, and BCR2000.

you don't know what you're talking about. companies can carge higher prices based on quality, reputation, r and d, craftsmanship, materials, supply, demand, and the like. i have nothing to do with how much they will charge for the maven. you're giving me too much credit . companies charge soo much because they should and can.

my only point is that most people will pay whatever price for the maven, xone, djm, iphone, whatever it may be...regardless of how much it is.

the big companies know this and in my opinion overprice a lot of items due to it.

By this logic then, they are all comparable with a mouse and keyboard...

Ok well, all three are audio interfaces with the ability to control music with dj software. They cater to the same market.

Does anyone know who's going to mass produce it? Is there a website linking to any real facts about the release? Any idea when it's going ot be released? I'm thinking of getting another cdj-1000mk3 but might just pick up my own maven instead if it's going to be out early in the new year and cost less than a cdj.

Any real info at all?

This is absolutely unofficial, but I'm quite certain it will be in excess of 2 grand.

I wouldnt count on it. Delays. No details. Dont save up for something that isnt even being developed yet. Get a Korg Zero 4 or Korg zero 8
