^The US is already stressed with IRAQ? Son, let me tell you something. This nation's military is capable of beating every sing army in the world without the use of WMD's. There is no nation or army that can defeat the US. I have acquiantances in the military and all of them said that the way the media portrays IRAQ is completly inaccurate. And this is coming from people who have spent over 6months there. |
You are abslutely right. The media does grossly misrepresent the war. After all, you can't really show the US is basically invading a sovereign country under BS guises and lies. I imagine public opinion would change quite a bit if shown that BEFORE the US invaded, as much as Iraq was oppressive, at least people had food to eat, and there were no open riots and crime in every single corner. Further, I can't see support for the war continuing if telecasts were to show heavily armed soldiers busting down civilian doors and tearing families apart. Liberators? Hah!
The media mis-represents EVERY single conflict. Note that a couple years ago, everyone was blaring at the downfall of the Taliban, a militaristic group PUT IN PLACE, TRAINED, AND FUNDED by the USA during the 60s and 70s to fight 'Soviet oppression'.
Don't even get me started on Bosnia. I was there, I saw what happened there, and I see what is happening there now.
