Ok.
If you have joined the US military at any point in the last 20 years, you have not been defending America. In the least. You are merely a tool for the privatization and furtherance of defensive industries who do not give a shit about people, only money.
Chances are also quite good that you joined the military because you wanted the government to pay for your education. Or teach you skills on how to do a job. Or teach you how to be disciplined in your life. Or something you will no doubt gain. But what you've signed up for is not much more than Job Corps with uniforms. There is no respect to command, no worthy patriotism or pride in a flag that has been blinded by the countless deaths of those who would oppose it, nor the spiritless idiots who would defend it in the name of nothing more than a name; least of all those who continually suffer under its imperialistic boot, deafened by wails of democracy and capitalistic opportunity and all of those other 'freedoms' in this world which seek to enslave the poor so that the rich might suckle their laborious vitality. And you are the tit. You are that conduit the self-righteous, blind rich might suck from.
But what makes this consumerism all that much different from any other business? Those of us outside of it do not live in the illusion that we are saving the world from whatever threat might just pop up next. Whether that threat be starving, malnourished children or the heathen influence of ancient peoples whose ideas might just make the polls waver, it feels quite good to know that men and women in uniform are looking out for us good, decent citizens so that we might watch more television and buy the products that display and BBQ animal remains on the Sabbath so that our gluttonous, meat-filled bellies can shake and roll as we flail our failing arms to salute you and start it all over again.
SEMPER FI.
