nah... one techno thread is enough for me. I just find it sort of humorous, that’s all.

Well said!
As for what hard pounding techno is...here's the harder stuff I fell in love with (but it's certainly not as hard as it gets)
I was there for the first and last ones
Man I miss those nights with her at Aria.

He mixes it up...every once in a while he'll play a nice minimal set!
Last time I saw Attalla at CZ he spun a nice Minimal set (i think it was the same set that Jamie's talking about)

Oh, John Gaiser is definitely minimal. I should have seperated my ideas better in what I wrote.

Pounding techno although okay, loses its appeal way to fast as its too much cheese and repetition.
Pft. Thta's the beauty of techno! The repetitive pounding!! Back in 04 and 05 I'd have strongly disagree... and indeed said it was what I hated MOST abouto techno...
but since have my revelation in 06 and coming to my proper senses Ive seen the beauty and pure aural bliss that is techno!

You'll like the Aria ones I posted for sure.
Another thing about minimal - I find minimal too sleepy when it's really slow or when it's on a shit sound system. Minimal is absolutely mind bending when you hear it somewhere like Stereo - you don't need the peripheral sounds of the harder techno to really feel that the music is "complete" (for lack of a better word).
I wish minimal techno had been more popular when boa was around...sometimes I still listen to tracks and fantasize about what it would have sounded like on that system.

Nothing else comes close to sounding as good on a top notch system as minimal does. It's quite amazing how much of a difference there is between a good sound system and a mediocre one. It's like night and day.
