lol no, read the contexts...I'm just saying they have "Quebec-style" poutine at Drake's on Queen St. we should organize a meetup there. A tad pricey, though.

I can appreciate at least a few dishes in any countrys cuisine for the most part. Just because I may dislike it doesnt mean its hands down gross, just preference.
I will say I enjoy a true Brit shepherd pie. I guess Im a little bias due to my mom and grandma from the UK.

Originally posted by verndogs I think it's more accurate to say that British cuisine sucks, but the food in Britain isn't all that bad if you have the ethnic cuisine
Had this argument before in the COR you can't really define it as 'British' food.
Each home country is different.
So until you've tried all of this for a starter >LINK< then don't be so hasty to judge.
And to say what you're saying is just so mind boggling ignorant I really don't know what else to say.
And there is only one place in the world that makes Whisky (Whikey isn't the real deal...) and that is protected by European law.
It is directly analogous to me saying "American cuisine sucks" meaning the entire continent of America....
EDIT: And as someone stated:
quote:
Chicken Tikka Masala
A widely reported explanation of the origins of the dish is that it was conceived in an Indian restaurant in Glasgow in the late 1960s, when a customer, who found the traditional chicken tikka too dry, asked for some "gravy".[1] The chef improvised a sauce from tomato soup, yogurt and spices.[2]
Not my fav curry nby a very long shot though

I'm not a big fan of English cuisine, but I love their names...
Bangers and mash
Bubble and squeak
******s <- also a slang term for gay men starting with an "f"
Spotted dick
Black/blood pudding scares the hell out of me though.

Well, if you ate "sarma" (which I despise), it's meat wrapped in cabbage. Anything's possible.
But leaves literally? Doubt it.

well I was in London yesterday.. I would call my experience of yesterday "above average" .. i've had worse. the steak was reasonable except for the attached lard and bones (meh) .. icecream tasted like butter (hehe). i travel there quite a lot and have yet to be surprized with a tasty meal
