I seem to recall an incident where my wife (LPN) reported something the DON did not do (that should have been done). I don't think any disciplinary action followed. Anyway, there seems to be a lot of back biting in health care - nursing homes, especially. Good money, but Christ on pogo stick there's no way I could do it for a living.

My wife has since moved into private duty, which is overall much better. The problem with private duty lies in getting set up with a patient who has wacked out family members.

But yeah, it's a great option...I will probably do community nursing for a few years myself.
