The way I choose to look at it is that we'd be offloading him in the off-season for nothing anyways, so at least we got a second-rounder out of it. Also keep in mind that he's a rental at this point; there's no guarantee he'll sign long-term at Washington.

so much parity in the NHL these days that even the last place teams are not so far down in the standings. They were selling at high prices and having the salary cap made it tricky.

No doubt Huet is a good goalie, but with Pricey and Halak he was surplus to our needs. I hope Washington make the playoffs because I love watching them play.
