MADE A BETETR REVIEW ON NYTA ...

I'm home first out of the NYTA's so I'm gonna start it now. Especially since I don't feel like working .

Movement day 1:
As soon as I walked in I was noticing TA's all over the place without needing to text them. Clovis, Jenny Pie, Rjt, Lucid, Beema, Jay RP, Blake, Inconspicuous, Gypsy Girl, Techniquez, his roomate dunno his TA name, Infinitetrance, & epdarks. <3

This was definitely the most exciting day of the festival and I lost alot of energy at this party. Well worth it. Beatport stage rocked alot too.. Saw Justin Long, Joris Voorn live - his 2nd or 3rd track was Robert Babicz - Dark Flower (Joris Voorn Magnolia Mix) *died*. Then went to the main stage for DBX Live = This dude is fuking SICK! & Moby's closing set.

There was someone that was going to a festival in Europe and wanted to know how Moby did.. Well, if you DON'T see Moby, I will personally kick your ass. He was absolutely insane and worth the 40$ alone. All his songs had tons and tons of energy. Dropped a sick remix of Body rock and Basment Jaxx - Where's your head at! The crowd was AMAZING. Moby had us all right at his fingertips. Never have I seen a closing song as ridiculous as the one that moby played. The song went NOWHERE but just the style of it [had this main techy sound pounding every second and slowly getting faster, faster, faster!!!!] Moby throughout his entire set got up on the tables just to interract with the crowd. At the very end he held up both fists together while everyone in the crowd was fist pumping to the song. It was nuts. Totally looked like were were Hailing Moby

Moby plays NOTHING like the Moby you see and hear on TV. All the TA's that had never seen him do a dj set were shocked.

Movement Day 2:
Because of the crazy afterparty I woke up late and got to the festival pretty freaking late. I was outside waiting in line to get in and we realize we had to go back to the hotel to drop something off. As we're walking back to the hotel [right across from the festival] We hear Michael Cassette - Shadows Movement [Komytea mix]. My boyfriend and I were shocked to hear this at a "Techno" festival. We knew it had to be one person and we guessed Kenneth Thomas. By the time we came back into line and *finally* made it in we ran to the Pioneer dj tent and KT was fuking bowing!. We were so pist off! AHH wackness. KT would have been a very nice and different set from the rest of the festival. After KT was Zabiela and this guy rocks! The shit he does with the cdj's is jaw dropping. We only got to hear him for about 40 mins cuz we went to catch Magda at the beatport stage. Magda was meh. I assume it's only because they stole her lap top 3 weeks ago. Maybe she hasn't recovered anything but I could only listen to her for 30 more mins before going back to the Pioneer stage. James was done by then . Thankfully they had this playstation experience bus that had all these cool video game and for like 15 mins I played ratchet and clank and my bf played GTA4. The second day wasn't as great. When we finally got outside to hear Benny benassi for a bit he was okay. Was a bit cheesy at times but some songs weren't so bad. Couldn't take it anymore and since there was this rumor that the after party over sold tickets.. we decided to go home and get ready for that instead.

After parties are on a planet on their own. Truly insane and never ever seen anything like it. Not even anything remotely close to the shit that goes down. Will review those later.

I recommend this to anybody with an open mind in Music. The festival was great. Detroit is cheap (Hotel flight parties..) The cab fares and the mission of trying to find a food place is what sucks. This area of detroit is a "working city" so everything is closed on the weekend.

EDIT - MOBY OPENED UP WITH INNERCITY -GOODLIFE.

Day 1:
Joris Voorn lay down a decent day set. The kiddies ate up Deadmou5 but his set was ehhhhh to say the least, played all the same tracks as you would expect him to play. DBX, no idea who he was but insane....Moby, like Mellymel said, unexpectly insane. His set was so hard from the ghecko it was hard to tell where he would go, some cheesey vocals but its Moby what do you expect.

Day 2:
Heartthrob was one of top sets of the festival along with Paco Osuna. Magda actually bored me to death, I couldn't handle. Zabiela was bringing tons of energy...left earlier to go to Temp Tats...which was pure destruction, kinda disappointing that the club started kicking people out at 3:30 a.m. but nonetheless great.

Day 3:
Burridge was fantastic as I anticipated.Paul Rich, was mind blowing...different unique sound at a festival dominated with minimal. Coblestone jazz I would definetly want to go see again, loving the electric piano aspect of their live set. Josh Wink started off doing ok and than moved to a more cheesey sound just like when he played at HPC in tampa.Dubfire, bored me at first but probably because I had heard so much minimal in the past 3 days I wanted to punch myself. He did play some crazy chaotic track that did nothing, went no where and yet I loved it. Speedy J, more of what I was actually expecting to hear, some crazy fast techno that makes you feel like your having a heart attack...actually enjoyed it once I adjusted to the sound.

Overall a great weekend....good music.....crazy people....DMF brought out a unique, different crowd than I'm used to. I'm sure I forgot something but work calls

ps Mellymel...sorry you had to miss the last day, finally warm enough to be comfortable at the beatport tent (87!!!!)

Full Review:

Day 1: Got there around 4pm.. Caught the end of Justin Long and then Joris Voorn's set.. Minimal madness all around.. Voorn dropped a bunch of his sick productions.. Stayed to watch Deadmau5 tear some shit up.. He dropped Total Departure into Washmachine, which made me happy, before he dropped the ball with Not Exactally as his last track.. oh well.. Headed to main stage to catch DBX dropping some crazy shit and then Moby came on.. Moby threw it down proper, he would play some banging shit and then drop some cheese vocals, it was a roller coaster set but a good first day closer..

Day 2: Konrad Black started off the day with some moving minimal sounds.. then Heartthrob comes on a smashes out a banging hour set, followed by Paco Osuna keep the sounds going.. All good sets.. then Magda steps up.. I was hoping to hear some madness but I was disappointed to say the least.. The set went no where for two hours and All I can say is I was ready to sleep or leave.. So I left to go to the memorable Temp Tattoos after party..

Temporary Tattoos was no joke.. 300+ people packed into a 3 room dungeon.. Jamie Jones played an killer 2 hour opening set and the Martin Landsky came on to destroy brains.. Madness for an hour and half to a room packed wall to wall.. Good Times all around..

Day 3: This was by far the best day of music.. Made it in enough time to catch David Squillance dropping some nasty tracks on Beatport stage, which was a perfect setup for the man himself.. Lee Burridge came on and played for close to 2 hours.. His skills are insane.. Tracklist and overall flow of the set was epic.. I love Burridge and I can't wait to catch him again.. Wink came on after Lee and we headed over to mainstage to catch the end of Cobblestone Jazz going crazy live.. Followed by a straight mind rape from Paul Ritch.. His set was so destructive.. by far one of the best acts from the weekend.. After Ritch, we headed back over to Beatport stage for the end of Winks set, which was ehhh, and then Dubfire came on to close.. He dropped madness to close out the festival.. Crazy sounds and sick basslines.. His productions are mind blowing as of late.. I would love to see him in a club... Great ending to a great weekend..

Hart Plaza is an amazing spot to have this event.. You have the River and Canada on one side and Detroit on the other.. The weather was perfect for the event and having all of the TA's out in full force made it an amazing time... It was awesome meeting MellyMel (finally!), JennyPie, Lucid, RJT, Techniquez, Clovis, Gypsy Girl, and everyone else! Props to Habs and EpDarks for joining me on the crazy journey.. TA's are an amazing group of awesome and crazy people...

Pros: Artist walking around everywhere! Met Richie Hawtin, Lee Burridge, Adultnapper, and many others; Weather; Friends; Cost of Flight/Hotel; Location; Jimmy Johns!

Cons: No Food Downtown; Detroit is rough city; Good Hotels are expensive; Transportation is somewhat of a challenge

Memorable Moment: Lee Burridge dropping Time Zero and then watching Paul Ritch drop it again right after words.. F***ing nasty track...

I like the rennanisance plan! Nah we didn't make it to old miami, too exhausted from everything.

Made it to the third day by sleeping until almost 3 p.m. and walking around like zombies!

Great meeting you...we will definitly have to do it again

lol @ Jimmy Johns & Subways are the only things open in the Ghost town.

I think in Novemeber [which is a crappy month because of the Holiday season] I'm gonna start a DEMF Reminder thread [6 months before]. Gonna try and get the hotels early so it's cheaper! I also want all the TA's in one hotel. They did that one time WMC 2005 and it was a CRAZY hotel. Jasin^^^ can vouch for that one. Right Jasin?? haha

It's mega cheap and if we all reserve our hotels early I think it'll be great. All you bastards better go next year. I'm taking Tuesday off. Working Tuesday was the worst experience of my life.

Oooh and you mother fukers need to hit up Volatl next year. That's the only after party I think I'll do. I still can't believe that they were filling up balloons with a massive nitrous tank. I have been trying to look for pictures of the insane crack fest but I can't find any.

Volatl = most amusing party of my life. I swear between the cuddle puddles & ppl with 3-6 balloons for whippets is kick-ass.

But yeah.. More ppl should go [JASIN]. It's so fuking cheap and so much more fun! I loved iiiiiiiiit. Was planning on going to WMC but I'll pass. 10 years of DEMF should be epic next year.

I HAD AN AMAZING WEEKEND.With exception of one little incident that was truly insanity.

Burridge as I have told people on every board is truly one of the great talents that we have in EDM. Lee is amazing everytime I see him.He is truly the best dj ouit there as far as track selection, set format, ownage of the crowd, and pretty much just being a great guy that will never be bigger than the music.Truly a amazing humble person.

Best sets of DEMF.In no specific order.LEE BURRIDGE,RITCHIE HAWTIN,KONRAD BLACK,JORIS VOORN,CAMEA (My favorite female dj,as well as being very close to my favorite set of DEMF.who kissed me pretty well when I introduced myself after her set,lol I think Im in love..hahahaha) she loves her fellow German boys,PACO OSUNA,RITCHIE HAWTIN (possibly the best set of DEMF,VERY CLOSE 2 LEEE,and Camea),PAUL RITCH,APENDEX SHUFFLE (the most
EEEEEEE-rradicated dj of all time,no one is even close ,acid and dmt was working for him, lol),RYAN ELLIOT,Troy Pierce,EFDEMIN,ZIP...
Best weekend of music ever. It's not even close,seriously....

Greek street is baaaad ass.Loved the fooood, it was amazing!!Best Deep Dish Pizza (better than Chicago), and Shawarmas of all fucking time!!

The clubs are horrible, the sound systems pretty much sucked ass at most of the afterhours, with the exception of CRACK FEST 08 (The 9-5),The sound was on point for that one.

The big downer for me was the people in Detroit. They are the scum ******s of the universe. Most everyone from Detroit are pieces of shit. I wouldnt even waste my urine pissing on those unhappy pieces of shit crack heads.

I loved hanging with everyone of my friends though, that other than the music was my highlight of the DEMF.Ryan,Bobby,Tuenesto,Jody,Melly,Thomas D,Infinitetrance (Thnx 4 the music bro, liked it man. Many thnxs)you guys made it worth while going.

I will have a fullllllllllll review with pictures this week.
