The ignore button maked this thread much easier to read...
The skybar has always kinda been more of a Z103.5 crowd/industry crowd any way... especially on a regular Saturday.
It seems like a natural progression to make the most of that connection.

I totally agree with you..I dunno what the big deal is..the skybar isn't what I would consider an "underground" venue...nor is the drink..those crowds are so much more different than what you get in the main rm and gallery..
The club is a world renowned venue that is teaming up with possibly the top radio staiton in T.O., on a business level you can't blame Charles for taking this route...on a personal level, of course I don't want to have to deal with the 103.5 crowds but I've been around this scene long enough to know that it ebbs and flows..the love of the music should help you to ride the waves..

Ofcourse Im not pleased with this...
But its not going to affect events like Lawler's sunrise set or Labour of Love, correct?
Therefore I dont think its going to change the crowd up there on a regular Saturday night. From what I remember it was a much different crowd than the main room.

lawler is on a monday...
I dont think it'll effect any saturday, most likely what is going to be done is a party mix will be played on the radio with an mc faking like its live haha.. its common practice

i guess you have only been in the drink before 2am because after 2am is when they bring out the "omg what is that song?" bombs. you'd also be surprised at how many of the people in the drink late night know the music.
as for skybar, i agree with you. its a patio. its not meant to be an "underground" venue. patios bring out all sorts of people.
so why makes you think the main room and gallery has a more "underground" crowd? is it because they arent dressed as nice and show up to a club with ketchup stains on their clothes and pass out on the floor? if i told you that many people in the drink were also regulars at cz, would that make the drink more "underground"? its obvious that you dont spend enough time in the drink to make a proper judgement.

That's what I always tell to everyone; IT'S OK TO DRESS UP in the main room/ Gallery and still know/dance to HOUSE MUSIC!
lol!

Reality is the music hasn't been underground for a long long time. I've seen the "scene" explode over the years.....which in many aspects is a good thing....but I've also noticed...in general....that the quality of productions has gone down. There is good and bad when something becomes more and more popular.
