Dont dog MARTA so much!

wtf! Why isn't it

I more or less hate on how the state just accepts that it's enough, but everyone knows it isn't

Because the state of Georgia doesnt want to pay for something that most of it can't utilize. We live in one of the reddest states in the country, next to Alabama and Mississippi. Do you really think they would fund something like this? For Atlanta?

And Cobb didn't say no to that agreement just because of the "homeless" factor, it's because they dont want to pay for something they wouldnt use. People ENJOY driving their SUVs, even if it means sitting in traffic. It's their RIGHT. Just like it's their right to live 2 hours away from the city and commute in every day. And you can't say that people will agree to it now because of gas prices. Gas prices go up, commuting stays the same. And the city of Atlanta would rather spend millions of dollars to add more lanes to the connector than to drop some money into a public transit plan.

When the airport rail system was going in, city officials, honest to god, said that they would rather use the money to expand the freeways more. Freeways that are already 16 lanes wide.

Ill never understand that mentality.

w0rd. I don't disagree with you. I just thought that with our size we would have a better transportation system like that of Chicago or other smaller large cities in the US.

edit: according to this, Atlanta is ridiculously small

I dont think anyone enjoys the traffic. My parents went to a town hall meeting and people were scared of crime coming up to cobb and homeless people.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think NYC is the only city in the world that has its subway system running 24/7/365

That's city proper and thats the freaking PROBLEM. No one wants to live in the city of Atlanta. Mainly because schools are shit.

This is the last census data (2000): http://www.census.gov/population/ce...hc-t3/tab03.txt

We're ranked 11th, and our growth rate is 25%. Thats huge.

Okay that's what I expected, and yeah I've heard we're one of the most growing cities in the US right now

See, those make sense. They cover an area, not the center of an area like ours.

Does anyone else besides me get a lot of entertainment out of looking at these transit maps?
