The fact that music is simple doesn't mean that it sucks, unless you're just some snob with your head too far up your ass to have fun. The vast majority of EDM is musically piss-simple compared to classical or even a lot of moderately competent rock music. Does that mean it sucks? Your call I guess, but I say no. |
i agree EDM is simple, most of it has one mission ... make you move. but there comes a point when it becomes too simple. like nothing but a metronome, most will agree, is too simple. psy is not too far removed from that in the beat department. most other forms of EDM will embelish around the kickdrum with polyrhythms, changing patterns, changing the tone of percussion elements throughout a track, etc. psy? no, psy doesnt do this.
