So, attacking modern trance in terms of innovation is implausible. In a matter of fact, the only genre that hasn't been done 10 years before its that Minimal and minimalistically edged-tech-house and techno stuff (i call it shit but don't pay attention) coming from Germany, and now that i think of it they are also around for quite some time now (it could actually be 10 years as well). So in terms of inspiration all EDM is currently dead. Good and bad tunes are always present though and these depend not only on the quality of the tune per se, but on the listener's taste and experience.

It was meant in a more literal sense. As in, he's got some guys hand up his ass.

true not everyone needs to reinvent the wheel, but Tyas is like the broken shopping cart of music.

Time to play Extreme Metaphor!

If Tyas is like the broken shopping cart of music, then would that make his offbeat bassline the incessantly wobbly wheel?

I've never really been impressed by his stuff. Most of what I've heard just involves adding 'und-si, und-si' bass to existing material.

All EDM is boring piece of shit now. Trance, minimal, house, etc all is boring and sounds like garbage. On the one hand you have cheesy trance with some whore singing like Enya and on the other you have minimal or techno which sounds like some asshole banging pots and pans.
