It could go on forever, but Heaven Scent is far more deserving of mention in a history of trance than many of the tracks listed here.
considoring the fact that Heaven Scent was released in 1999, a year when unusually many good trance songs were released, I can see why so few people have included it into their lists. It's a damn good tune but there are alot of damn good tunes from that year.
legend!!! i've wanted this in high quality for so long!!
thanks!

that gripe tends to cross my mind alot in threads like this, although there's always going to be an element of subjectivity to anyone's view, even when considering their wider status
my attempt at a list, judging by merit (for better or worse) rather than personal taste;
klf - what time is love
age of love - age of love (jam & spoon remix)
jam & spoon - stella
humate - love stimulation (paul van dyk remix)
underworld - dark & long (dark train)
planet perfecto feat grace - not over yet
marmion - schoneburg
faithless - insomnia (monster mix)
robert miles - children (dream mix)
chicane - offshore
bt - flaming june
LSG - netherworld
push - universal nation
energy 52 - cafe del mar (3'n'1 remix)
paul van dyk - for an angel (e-werk club mix)
system f - out of the blue
sasha - xpander
bedrock - heaven scent
solar stone - seven cities
rank 1 - airwave
tiesto - flight 643
motorcycle - as the rush comes
whiteroom - the white room
gate 42 - flow (john o'callaghan remix)
marcel woods - advanced
alex morph & rank 1 - life less ordinary
there were a few others in there but i tried trimming it whereever possible. the ones near the end aren't so much classics but tunes that changed the path of modern mainstream trance, evident when tracing back some of the big trends. some of them i don't even like but that's beside the point...

This is a frequent topic, but that thread should cover those years, but not all trance of course.

I spliced it with Life Line to recreate the version Sasha closes GU:13 with. If that version had been released properly, it'd be on a lot more lists than the version that was. I can put up the edit if people are interested.

Your opinion is wrong. Never was trance, never will be.
