Great info, but tell me something. Now I've never really done the smartphone/geek phone thing to a large extent. I've had my Black Moto Q for close to 2 years now, but Verizon's data plans are horrendous so I've avoided them.
Regardless, I hear a lot of people saying that you don't need WiFi with VZW's sick EVDO network. Does that ever limit one in any way to a phone that does use WiFi, as the CDMA Storm I've learned will not? |
will do on the "."
Wifi is great for travellers where they dont have coverage or is limited. But i spend 90% of my time in Canada or if maybe travel to the US once a while, so it would be really pointless for me to have WiFi specially with our data plans here you can get unltd Data for 15$(excluding tethering)/withing canada only. I am sure in the US you can get it cheaper for verizons retention team. And if you are abroad most people are bound to use pay as you go sim cards, in which the data rates might be cheaper depending which country. You have to look at the reality and see what your situation demands of you with your phone. I dont do the smartphone geek thing , the reason why i know all this is because i work for Telus here in Canada is required for me to stay upto date.
It Doesnt limit your phone in any form with or without Wifi, its just one of things nice to have but nowadays with so much competition they are cheap you have to negotiate with their retentions team, i get hundreds of people that pull that same shit everyday "give me a deal or i am leaving" but maybe if your nice to the person you talk to not overly or bad , could depend on the person. hope that helps
