It wont import the collection right. It loads fine at first but then if you try to close traktor down and open it back up, it says its invalid ....PC version

I've had to keep my latency around 10ms or so which i'm not that happy about.
Serato was down on the lowest setting (2ms?)
It's great having all the extra features but i think the only thing that's annoying me is that i need to get to know the software a bit better.
With serato, everything's a little easier. More simple.
While i kinda regret moving to traktor because i knew Serato so well, i think in the long run i'll have more fun with Traktor.
I'm just finding it tough to figure everything out.
For example.
Cue points, marking cue points on the fly with Traktor using keyboard shortcuts. Something very simple i'm sure but i haven't been able to get this to work yet.
Loading a track onto the wrong deck by accident.
In serato you used to hit ctrl z and the deck would load back onto the previous track you had loaded.
How do you do this with Traktor? Or is it even possible?
Serato had a neat little trick where you could change the loop points with th vinyl. In affect you used the vinyl to make the loop smaller and smaller by moving the vinyl. I'd select in the start point of the loop and make the loop smaller and smaller until you could release it on beat creating a nice little climax effect every now and again. I miss this feature..
Small things.
The latency thing is the biggest pain in the butt though. Any time i drop it down below ms i'm getting nasty feed back.
I'm running this all on 15.4" MBP, 2.4ghz 2 gb ram. (just ordered 4 gb)
Having said all the above, it is running flawlessy for me on the settings i have it on but would love to get the latency down. I've played at 2 house parties, each one for 4-6 hours.
The accidental track reversal thing would also be handy to know.
If i had the time i'd scour the NI forums for info but i don't think they're as comprehensive as the serato ones.
All in all I'm at a 7/10 with the product. In time i know this will climb though which is great to know.
I'm nearly thinking it's vital to have a midi controller though. Not sure if i want to commit to buying another piece of equipment though.

2ms? Even though you set that in the software, there's no way that's the reality. It's like having a volume knob that goes to 11
In Traktor's preferences, turn off the ability to "load onto a playing deck". You'll prevent killing the playing deck that way.

Thanks for the tip..
I know it might not have been going off 2ms but in reality the control was tight, and the fact that Serato had a nice little light that would turn on if you had a usb drop out (red) or flicker orange if you had a few pops and hisses was a nice little feature.
With traktor i seem to have to use my ears without any visual indication that the latency is too low..
Honestly, i just can't wait till i have a few days holidays and can properly sit down and mess around with it.
I'm far from unhappy though about it.. Just slightly frustrated i suppose

well, he has a xone:92, so his volume knob goes to 11 (the headphone knob).
and about the latency thing. i don't even know where mine is. i just set it to something where the sound wouldn't crackle and it's been fine ever since. do you really notice a difference between 2 and 10 ms? on the traktor scratch pro demo i didn't change the initial setting it was on and didn't notice any difference to traktor scratch (haven't bought the pro version yet).

It seems like the pro version needs to be patched.

Are you talking about the mac os x 10.5.2 patch?
If so i think it's only the 10.5.2 version that needs the patch. But i could be wrong..
Either way it would be great if there was a site that showed you most common aspects of the program..

No just seems that you shouldn't be having any problems with your hardware. I'm running slower hardware at lower latency with no dropouts etc... but I have Traktor Scratch, not Traktor Scratch Pro, so I just figured it probably has a few bugs in the code.

Either way, it's working but I need to find somewhere that will give me hints and tips..
What controller would you say works best with Traktor? Xone 1D? Or is it a case of preference?

Preference. I will be picking up a faderfox dx2 because I have seen my favorite DJs using them before and I like the compact size and tough build.
Using an Akai mpd24 right now, but I need to hook that back up to my DAW, and get the faderfox for Traktor.

dl'd the demo for windows (Pro) and wow...been recently fooling around with Traktor 3 demo and I thought that was really solid. Pro blows me away. Sold. Time for the self-Christmas present. I'm going to see if I can get Scratch for cheaper and upgrade.
